Errol Spence - Is he the truth?

To be fair, I don't see Spence treating Brook the same way he treated the Bundu and Algieri fights. Bradley didn't fight Provodnikov the same way he fought Marquez or Pacquiao, for example. Different fighters need different strategies. We've seen so many fights where a fighter is completely at ease beating a sub par opponent, but gets beat or struggle against tougher opponents.

Yea definitely of this thinking myself.

I also think its a common byproduct of "setup fights", as I tend to call them, where the guy we all know is supposed to win wins that a fighter shows his shortcomings more often cuz they are just trying to look impressive & "get a guy out of there".

I think Spence's not stellar defense is one of those sacrifices & we'll see the Spence Floyd & Broner saw sparring with him in the ring vs Brook. The Spence we've been seeing isn't Spence operating at all cylinders at top speed.

It's not a lie. It's all over the internets if you just google it. Spence called out Brook multiple times before and after the Algieri fight. Dibella even chimed in and said something like Brook will want no piece of Spence right after the Algieri fight. As soon as Hearn/Brook called their bluffs, they went silent all of a sudden. The Bundu mandatory was much more important all of a sudden.

It's regrettable because the G3 fight Brook took would not have happened.

Lol, we know Spence has been calling out brook for a while.

What I'm dismissive about is the fact he was offered the fight, and turned it down. Post some proof.

Brook could win but I don't see the need in pretending that Spence struggled in his last two fights. That's a blatant lie.

I didn't see him say Spence "struggled". He said if Spence does x or y vs C & D level fighters its cool, but if he does x or y vs a A level fighter, like Brook, it might not be so cool. That was the legit thing he brought up when I read his post anyway

Personally I got a pet peeve at calling top 10 & top 20ish boxers like Aligeri & Bundu C & D level, but I understand the overall point he's trying to make & I'd agree with him. If Spence makes the same mistakes he's made vs lesser fighters vs Brook he's likely to be put into much harsher spots then Aligeri or Bundu could put him in.

Errol Spence can hang with anyone at WW. But i've read people saying he's the next SRL. And i'm not seeing it. He's making a few silly mistakes against fringe contenders - you can get away with that against guys with 30% KO ratios, but not against top level.

Loool OP does have valid points but Spence himself has said he didn't have to worry about defense in both of those fights. I mean reading LacedUp's notes you wouldn't believe Spence won every round against Algieri and Bundu and held both guys to a connect rate of about 30%.

We'll find out in a week but admittedly I need to see more from Spence to convince me he is the truth, best part is he'll have to do just that to beat Brook.

Not worrying about defense is a recipe for disaster. Creates bad habits.

He said Spence couldn't counter punch. Got tagged a lot . Didn't bring his hands back after punching and a lot more things that simply were not true. Both fights wouldn't have been one sided if Spence was fighting in the way he described lol


Making an analysis is one thing. But fabricating specific things is ridiculous.

It is all true and based on video evidence. At no point did I say he was struggling. but he did look slightly clueless especially in the bundu fight when bundu was switching and doing the herky jerky.
