If HBO hasn't profited from GGG they shouldn't even be in the boxing business. I mean HBO boxing gets their budget & their ratings need to warrant something to HBO or they don't continue their relationship with that specific fighter if he's not moving the needle enough. And for PPV I'd assume them to have a vast datebase on the PPV demo & history & can put a guarantee & bonus structure on all their fights that allow for them to make money.

So basically what you are suggesting is HBO Boxing needs to be reprimanded by HBO if they aren't getting the ratings & new subscribers from their usage of funds for GGG fights or the PPV arm doesn't have the correct payout structure for their PPV's. Either way its HBO Boxing's fault not anything to do with GGG.

TLDR, If you overpay someone for something you misvalued its on you not the guy you overpaid.

Oscar has never told the truth about anything to the media at any point since becoming a promoter.

Loeffler is very available to the media but generally doesn't say much of substance, especially regarding negotiations

NONE OF US KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THESE NEGOTIATIONS. There are plenty of better things to talk about.

What big fights has Tom proven he can make? Meanwhile Oscar has been a part of making too many big fights to count. But yeah its Oscar holding this up but K2 is the one who confirmed they received the offer and has never denied any of the details reported. K2 is over their heads and over pricing GGG and doing like they always do talk big names but never actually fight any of them. Mr 154 or 168. Did the same with ward then ran like h0es. Go an name every big name GGG has name dropped over the last 5 years fought none because his team refuses to concede weight, money or any other B side requirement to make a fight reality. While canelo has fought everyone fans have asked for Cotto, trout, floyd, Chavez ect. Has gone up and down weight and taken less to make big fights. Hell he at 26 is fighting above 160 BEFORE GGG who is 35 and said he would go to 168 half a decade ago but still hasn't. GGG will be next as soon as K2 gets out the way.

HBO typically takes around 7.5% of the PPV revenue. So even if an event does a million buys, HBOs take is less than 7 or 8 million bucks.

So these clowns that think HBO looks at PPV as some kind of revenue stream are ******ed. I suspect as long as HBO makes enough to cover their production and administrative costs, they are happy.

Yea I'm not saying HBO is making billions off of boxing I'm just saying HBO Boxing knows how to make money in PPV with any PPV worthy guy or add value to HBO via ratings/subscribers so MCC acting like HBO is losing money on GGG is a silly thing to suggest.

And I don't think I'd argue with you on them being fine with covering their expenses cuz boxing is a tiny part of what makes HBO a leader in the entertainment business.
