GGG's last PPV, in the UK against Brook, sold 642k .. and that was just in the UK. Brooks previous PPV headliner only did 39k, so you can see from that how much appeal Golovkin has now.

GGG has many more fans worldwide than Canelo. Taking that into consideration, plus Canelo's falling HBO PPV numbers, Golovkin would bring as much money to the fight as Canelo.

I noticed I made a typo in the number I gave for Kell Brook's previous PPV. It sold 139k, not 39k.

There's still a 500k difference between those two numbers though, so the point I made still stands.

According to Eddie Hearn, GGG/Brook sold more PPVs than any other fights he's staged, apart from Froch/Groves 2 and AJ's world title defences.

I just read in another thread that the reason GGG won't accept a flat fee from Canelo is that he wants a share of the income from his own worldwide fan base. How anybody can blame him for that beats me.
