Comments Thread For: Chavez: Canelo Picked Me Over GGG For 'Easier Fight, More Money'

NEW YORK Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. isn't insulted. He knows Canelo Alvarez picked him for his next fight because Alvarez considers Chavez a lower-risk, higher-reward proposition than Gennady Golovkin, despite Chavez's significant size advantage. The enigmatic ex-middleweight title-holder is fine with that now that he has been presented with a lucrative chance to begin changing his damaged image May 6 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas (HBO Pay-Per-View).

They did 300K with Smith, 600K with Khan, and 900K with Cotto

Golovkin did 150K with Lemieux and lets see how much he does with Jacobs

GGG's last PPV, in the UK against Brook, sold 642k .. and that was just in the UK. Brooks previous PPV headliner only did 139k, so you can see from that how much appeal Golovkin has now.

GGG has many more fans worldwide than Canelo. Taking that into consideration, plus Canelo's falling HBO PPV numbers, Golovkin would bring as much money to the fight as Canelo.

50/50 on all the income would be fair, imo.

If you give the real numbers for those fights in the order they happened, this what you get: 900k, 500k, 260k.

That's not good for Canelo, not good at all.

Experts, Insiders, Writers, Commentators, Other Trainers, Ex fighters, current fighters, fellow Mexican fighters all have stated the OBVIOUS - Canelo has and continues to Duck GGG.

Unfortunately a bunch of manlets will keep this thread going for 20+ pages arguing about how much they think each fighter should get.
