Because he could just stay in the division and keep knocking out everyone while getting the praise and the glory. Why on earth would he want to leave that?
Right. 160 is a division with really only 5 good fighters, and Jacobs is the 3rd best in it.

Agreed on Jacobs being chinny. Not sure why GGG should get so much credit from stopping someone even Sergio Mora managed to knock down.

GGG would be favored against Canelo. Canelo's ability against MW's is still unknown, he's yet to fight a MW (Cotto 153lb guy is hard to count).

DeGale, Jack, Ramirez and the Dirrell's would all stand a better chance vs GGG at 168. Their size, reach, height, and amatuer experience over Canelo would all give them a better chance. Canelo ranks 5th for me after those 5. At MW, yes Canelo has the best shot. At 168 you have Olympic Gold medalist DeGale, and Olympic Bronze medalist Andre Direll in the top 5 alone. Then you have guys that would have that obvious physical advantage like height and reach that GGG isn't used to at 160. We don't even know how GGG's power would fair at 168, you have to take that in account when thinking about who can beat him from 160-168.

Jacobs is the under dog simply because of the power of GGG not because of any wide gap in skills.

They won't no matter who he fights. Hate is hate. I'm rooting for Jacobs so we can move on, hopefully, doe.

I'm basing what I said on an eye test alone. Canelo has a chance because he's faster than Golovkin and throws very decent combos.

I'm of an opinion that Golovkin's first loss will be against a Ward-esque kind of fighter, not because of the whole GGG ducking Ward BS drama, it's because of Ward's inside game and physical strength.

None of the fighters you've mentioned has that and they wouldn't beat GGG in my opinion.

The Ward drama ended on the day he moved up. But now you guys still insist on GGG moving up because.... Why?

Just because they're top SMWs it doesn't mean that'd beat Golovkin, the only intrigue would be how they'd cope with their size. And since he's not half of their size, you'd drop the size BS angle and come back to the old style make fights mantra, which is true....

Styles do make fights and the fighter who'd have the best chance of beating GGG is Canelo. He has the lucky shot chance and skills to execute it against a fighter like GGG.

There's also a guy like Saiko Bika who has the style to beat Golovkin but not the skills to do so.

If GGG didn't have any power, then the chin wouldn't be an issue. It's only about the power.

They both have power, so that issue is nullified. The question is who will be able to take who's shots better, and if we take a poll before the fight, ggg wins that going away.

Jacobs's chin is obviously the biggest question mark going in.

Yeah, but the conversation wasn't about Jacobs power but rather GGG's and why he is considered such a high favorite. Sure Jacobs has power but it's not recognized as being in the same league as GGG's.

SMW will pose a far better challenge for him, it would be a great accomplishment to move up and dominate. He could win titles in multiple divisions.
