Hatton's not overrated, he's a tough fighter who maybe clinches a bit too much but takes the fight to his opponent. He's got a solid chin. Where is his problem lies is lack of defense (certainly in his last few fights) and the fact that he blows up in weight so much between fights. I think that is going to catch up with him if he keeps blowing up and then having to lose a lot of weight before fights. Duran did that and had a long career but generally blowing up (I think I read Hatton weighed as much as 200 pounds at one point between fights, don't know if that's true or not) is not good.

      **** A RICKY HATTON
He's overrated because he beat a bigger guy with legitimate skills in a close fight?

I guess Floyd is very overrated then, based on his bouts with Castillo, especially the first one.

      Think before you type.

Hattons a good fighter, I still pick him over Castillo, among others. You'll just see that Collazo is underrated. His last three fights he was underdog, and Rivera was an underdog his last fight too. Funny thing is, hes still an underdog, as well as Rivera, just like Santos is.

If everyone remenbers, Collazo was called a paper champion, and people didnt even think he had won a real belt over Rivera. Collazo was under the Zab "undisputed" champion thing, and now of course Mayweather and Margarito are whats left and seen as the top dogs, with Hatton moving up to be 3rd.

Firstly, if is overrated now, but wasnt before the fight then this means that everyone's view has changed.

Who here thinks that Hatton cant beat the people we said he could beat before the Collazo fight... Because I know for sure that he will still beat Corrales, he will kill Gatti, he will annihilate Cotto, he will beat Castillo but thats a tough one, and Mayweather is 50/50 like we all said before.

Just because he half-won a fight with a guy who was a stylistic nightmare for him, does not mean all of a sudden he will lose to the rest of those guys... **** man, the inconsistency of opinion round here is just amazing. I swear half this board has just jumped on a whole new bandwagon now... and then when Hatton wins convincingly it will be "oh, Hatton is the best".

If your gonna start judging boxers, stick by your damn principles. If you thought boxer A had skills before a fight, dont change your opinion on one fight... And lets face it, 90% of this board recognised he had skills. So why the sudden change? He boxes for half hour and you guys are like "Robbery" "Overrated!".

Hatton beats most of them out there, with trouble against Caastillo and Mayweather due to different things. We all knew this before. Now get off the bandwagon.

            Overrated? I think not.

haha wow..... first he wasnt overrated before the fight becuz many of us didnt knwo what he could actually do!(ATleast i didnt) We have a good idea now!

WHo said anything about him beating Castillo or Corrales, killing Gatti (ill give him Gatti MAYBE) or anhilating Cotto not with the performance he put up against Collazo, and 50/50 against PBF dude get the **** outta here.

A fight with either Castillo or Corrales would be 50/50, Gatti would lose, Cotto would put on a show making it a good fight, hahahaha and you dumb-ass PBF would KILL HIM!

And noone that i know of was on the Hatton BANDWAGON but liek myself seemed to feed into the hype that was, but after a performance like SAT thats all changed! And if Hatton defeats anyone of skill CONVINCINGLY ill leave this site forever!

And really, or atleast in my case i didnt think he had skills to begin with, but saw one of his fights (TSZYU)and becuz of the TKO of an OLD but highly ranked TSZYU feed into the HYPe!

The fact is HATTON is not what we THOUGHT, and he didnt do what we THOUGHT he would! Therefore in many peoples eyes, not just BS.com his ****ing BALONEY *****!

Although Mayweather is nearer Hatton's size and weight, if Hatton doesn't develop more boxing skills, I would look for Mayweather to stop him in 7-8 rounds tops on cuts, if not sooner. And I was a big Hatton fan.....

I dont need to reply to this, other than to say, yes people were saying Hatton-PBF is 50/50. Clearly you never visited this part of the forum if you have never witnessed such statements...

                  As for the rest.

I completely agreed with the guy ur were responding to, and u basically proved his point. hatton had a bad fight at 147, he could still beat all the greats at 140, if u dont think this, ur just ****** and furthing pushing the fact of how little u really know about boxing.

Hatton is an extremely dominant junior welterweight. I have him beating Cotto by KO, I have him beating Castillo by UD, i see him beating Carrales by KO, and i see him beating Gatti by TKO (prolly a trainer will come into the ring to stop the beating).

Talking about a Mayweather Hatton fight and saying Mayweather would school hatton is wrong. He would prolly win right now against an inexperienced 147er, but it would be a damn good and a damn close fight.

And like as i read ur post over again, im respecting u less and less. u just clearly have no idea what ur talking about.

Saying that Hatton MIGHT be able to beat Gatti, Hatton would destroy Gatti, the only Reason Gatti would win would be because of his extreme heart and will. hatton would beat Gatti quicker and prettier then floyd did it, but Gatti is well past his prime now.

U also said some bad things about the tszyu fight. What? are u ******ed? this was another 140 fight i beleive and since he is INCREDIBLY good at junior welterweight, he was able to fight toe to toe with one of the best and win. Put him in the ring with any 147 fighter at 140, and hatton has one hell of a shot at winning. He's THAT good.

And do me a favor, never call someone a dumbass when they clearly have more knowledge of the sport then u do. He was right, ur dead wrong. u only watched his 147 fight, and he did bad. He was overweight and out of shape. At 140, there aint anybody that could dominate him. hell, there aint anybody that could beat him
