Ward is getting paid $5,000,000 to fight one SADISTIC dude. That actually has killed someone before AND wouldnt mercy KO Pascal. He wanted to PUNISH him....While GGG got paid $5,000,000 to fight a guy TWO weight classes lower.
You're right Golden Goose Gennady cherry picked his opposition as Ward tried cherry pick GGG rather than face the ice cold killer Krusher, only if Ward beats him which I think he will he will be P4P no.1 no questions.

Ward has the biggest balls in boxing right now. Imagine of guys like Wilder and GGG had the stones this guy does, all hail Andre 'SOG' Ward.

Stop splitting hairs, you sad ****er. What I'm saying is that none of GGG's WBA title defences were for the interim title. He fought Nilson Tapia for the regular title in his next fight after becoming interim champ, and that was when his title run began.

Note: If Tapia had beaten GGG, then Tapia would have become the WBA regular champ, not Golovkin. That's what the term "fighting for a title" means.

Ward also has a purse guarantee for that fight which will probably net him double what Krusher earns.

        All hail Roc Nation Sports!

          Froch- no you fight him
Ward - no you fight him first

On a serious note I believe ward would fight him given the opportunity (honestly know one knows what really happened in those negotiations) but froch is a total ***** I wish he took the fight when it was originally offered, I don't wanna see it happen now, too old to fragile, golovkin would destroy that pretty nose
Good post, funny and true actually. Ward saying GGG should fight Froch who is retired. Golovkin simply trying to clean out the MW division but no takers. Time for him to move up. No one else left willing to fight.

I was simply reminding Kafkod that he swore Ward would never sign to fight Kovalev yet he had confidence that Canelo would fight Golovkin despite all the signs that were there of GB delaying the fight and trying to get unfair advantages from the get go. The guy is stubborn and won't just admit he was wrong lol.
I've followed Ward's career since the super 6, due to him fighting Froch, one of my all time favourite fighters.

He had a history of turning down offers for fights he considered to be dangerous for him ... rematches with Froch and Kessler, on their turf, Bute and Stevenson.

Canelo, on the other hand, had a history of accepting fights from opponents considered to be dangerous for him .. Mayweather, Trout and Lara.

That was what I based my opinions on Ward and Canelo upon - the history of the two men, as I interpreted it.

And btw, if I'd known how much Roc had guaranteed Ward for the Kovalev fight, my opinion on whether he would go through with it might have been different.

I thought he and Krusher would just be splitting the income 50/50, with no extras for Andre from Roc.

Whatever, Ward is obviously determined to give this fight everything he has, now that he's signed for it, so respect to him for that.

And Ward insisted that he didn't even know GGG had signed to fight Lemieux when he sent that offer, btw.
... but instead, at that very point, Ward was very well aware that his 'stablemate' Cotto was mandated to fight GGG, right?!
