Comments Thread For: Andre Ward: My Skills Never Left, I'm Feeling Better Than Ever

Andre Ward: My competitiveness never leaves me, regardless of weight class. I carry my competitive nature wherever I go. I felt my body was ready to move up, and I'm surrounded by a great team that helped ensure I made that transition the right way."

Ward is the man.. you made me a believer. There is no one in boxing with the ring I.Q . and skill set that he has. He will dominate Kovalev, people will say, " it was a boring fight, "he clinched" this and that, but at the end of the day he will walk away with a W and lb4lb#1 status.
Haters are going to see how good this guy is.

This guys hasnt won a meaningful fight in 4 years . Every fight after the froch fight was showcasing garbage vs dead men walking.

How he is ranked p4p based off that is one of the reasons boxing is failing in the public eye.

Kovalevs level of opposition has been much better and it will show on fight night.

I hate when boxers say that. It usually spells disaster, when a boxer says they are in the best shape they have ever been that translates into fight night as a TKO with them taking the L

If either fighter does their ring walk to 'Burning Heart' from the Rocky movies, then that's going to be the difference between winning and losing, I feel. This is the time for that track. I'm feelin it.

This fight cant come soon enough. Backing Kovalev but would not be surprised if Ward pulled it off.

Guess it depends on your perspective & what you specifically enjoy in the sport. Some people prefer throwing the ball down the field, while others like defensive strategy & limiting opponents.

Certain businessmen would claim they haven't gone bankrupt, simply taken advantage of the laws of this country. Others would always pay for their promises & purchases no matter the sacrifice.

Rules are set in place to enforce fair play, most try to take advantage where they can but there always remains a line. It's your stance & perspective that determines your allegiance.

I certainly hope this is a clean bout displaying great boxing skill, no matter who wins.

My agility and my endurance remain-add that to my new strength and explosiveness, and I'm feeling better than ever.
This is what I'd be concerned about. Ward has appeared a little sluggish but that may be chalked up to opposition. Nothing to gauge where he is now & it's a very big step up from recent years. His endurance has never been his strongest asset.
