If GGG got upside then his guarantee would be like a quarter of that. I am saying that he should take the 10 mill because his bargaining position will only get worse with time. Canelo is going to fight Saunders, Brook, and maybe even Jacobs before GGG so that means that the fight won't happen until May 2018 at the earliest. Almost 2 years from now. The fight realistically won't happen in 2017 when Canelo is going to want a fight in May with Kell Brook I predict at a catchweight and then a warm up fight at the full 160. Then he will fight GGG, that is the earliest and may not even happen then.

GGG however has the problem of staying undefeated until then as well as sharp. I don't see that happening when he fights 4x per year and if he wants to fight top competition. Saunders and Jacobs alone will be tough fights.

Lol using a little common sense can't hurt. I mean you'd have to be trolling at this point to seriously ask "would you have a survey". This isn't the first fight to come around. Hundreds of big fights have happened in the past and more than enough times that the proportion of money looks about fair.

This is money we're talking about and to most fighters every dollar counts. By your method of divvying up the purse almost all of Golovkin's previous opponents should have gotten about 1% of the purse lmao. Don't know anyone who tuned into the Adama or Monroe fight just because one of those guys was fighting.

They're still negotiating, it's 11 months away. But of course they want upside, it's only right

That's where the leeway and common sense comes in.

So there is no set criteria then for determining the purse split. Your system is flawed.

If GG beat Jacobs and Saunders clearly with no controversy, who would support Canelo fighting them soon after?

The pressure for him to fight GG would be unbearable.

No, but I know a BS offer when I see one.

Nobody makes offers like that in the sport of boxing. Who knows where both men will be in a years time? What if one, or both of them, gets beat badly before then?

Eg, if Golovkin gets KO'd by Jacobs and loses all his titles, is Oscar still going to pay him $10 million to fight Canelo next year?

If Canelo can't hack it at 160, and loses to Lemieux and Saunders, where would Oscar get the money to pay GGG $10 million to fight him after that?

Don't be so damned gullible! Oscar and Canelo are shook by the 250 PPV buys for his last fight and Oscar is trying to spin this to make it appear that GGG is the one who doesn't want to fight so he can get some credibility back for his cash cow - and you fools are falling for it!

THERE WAS NO CONTRACT SENT TO GGG, just a preliminary offer to start negotiations for a fight that may not even happen.
                      Great post mate.

                      Full of logic.
