Comments Thread For: Arum Rips: Golden Boy's Flat Fee Offer To Golovkin is Bull****!

While Canelo is a bigger draw, he's not that much bigger of a draw to offer an undefeated Champ like GGG a flat fee. He's definitely not the superstar that he and Oscar thinks he is. Neither fighter can do big numbers on their names alone but together this fight will generate about a million ppv buys and sell out whatever venue its taking place at. 60/40 or even 65/35 would be fair in my opinion.
With that said, if GGG accepts the $10mil offer, then great! I'm not earning anything from either fighter's purse. I just want to see a good fight. On the other hand, its situations like this that prevent these high profile fights from happening and that's why there needs to be a fair offer made.Last edited by Deevel916; 09-28-2016, 07:25 AM.

Offer a percentage get it over and done with this fight will gather a whole lot of attention it will easily be the biggest fight to be made in boxing right now.
It'd be different with Canelo and Oscar low balling IF GGG was the challenger to the belts but Canelo wants to be challenger to the belt he use to have and the other belts GGG has, it's been that bad he has been damaging his body to avoid 160 his natural limit lol.
How many P4P top #50??? One Brook! Who is PROBABLY a Top #20. Lemuix Isn't! Neither is The Buffalo Bills of Boxing Martin Murray.
So the BEST guys that GGG has beaten are...
A Welterweight brought up TWOvweightclasses.
A Canadian who was KTFO by 8 loss Marco Rubio and lost to 154 lb Joachim Alcine who was BLASTED out in 1 ROUND by Alfredo Angulo.
Martin Murray who is 0-4-1 in Major title fights! Poor guy NEVER even won a Major Title.
I DONT care what either one makes. I too want to see the fight but I realize it will NEVER happen if GGG expects 40,50,60% split. Pipe Dream just like him EVER moving up to fight at 168lbs.

Of course it is, any flat fee offer at least a year out from the actual fight is a joke offer. It couldn't be more blatant a PR move.

But look, that opened the doors to Floyd becoming a ppv star. So little g should do the same and take a smaller cut cause he's clearly the b-side in the negotiations

I get it. He's a high risk/low reward fighter at the moment, but lets not act as if he didnt try to get these guys into the ring only to be turned down/ducked.

People assume they can just prop him up as some big worldwide crossover superstar but its just not the case, he's a popular fighter but not even close to what those guys had. Everybody knows who Oscar, Floyd and Manny are worldwide, ask a non boxing fan about Canelo and in most places and they wont even know who you're talking about, especially outside of the US.
Mind you, Canelo is a Mexican and fought in Texas on a Mexican Holiday! Pacquiao a Philipino fought Clottey who was from Ghana in Texas and more than doubled Canelo's ppv buy rate!
Canelo has a loooong way to go before he's on the star level of a Mayweather or PacquiaoLast edited by Deevel916; 09-28-2016, 08:02 AM.

If he were lighter on his feet, I think Canelo would have a much better chance, but Alvares moves in the ring like a 45 year old man with those cement block feet of his.
