Canelo is also out till may, Ggg is gaining mean while. If that's not 40%, it's in that neighborhood

Why is he talking?!?...oldman from another era...he knows how to TALK TO FIGHTERS...he's just trying to get Lil G to consider waving the TR flag...the *** would love nothing better than to steal a potential goldmine from the Germans lol...old head and Hoya probably planned this
Hoya stall...K2 gets thirsty and desperation kicks in....then Hoya throws them a low ball...they're ready to bite...then old school makes a comment like this and Lil G goes hmmmmm

If Alvarez can fight an unknown and get 300k and Golovkin can't even get on ppv anymore, that says a lot about who the networks believe can make big money. That's the reality. Alvarez has more paying fans than Golovkin.
Lastly, this is business! The first offer is always on the edge of reasonable and slanted towards the one offering. The flat fee and ppv upside is gives Alvarez more than he should get just like 60-40 gives Golovkin more than he should get. The agreement will be made somewhere in the middle whereas both parties feel that got a little screwed. THAT'S NEGOTIATIONS FOLKS.
Oh and I wouldn't agree with anything Arum says. He is a natural born liar. If he said the sky is blue I would still look outside to check.

I believe had Canelo dropped the WBC title, and made it clear he wasn't going to fight GGG, the Khan fight would have done about 300k.
We'll see what Canelo does on his next fight (with Golden Boy hot-shotting things straight to a May PPV, Oscar's going to have to look for someone who can bring some positive attention to the matchup).

I dont know how the myth got perpetuated that arum is ripping manny off but its just hilarious because nobody in his stable is claiming arum rips them off. Arum is the highest paying promoter in the business and this is especially true since al haymons financial backers arent paying those inflated purses anymore
A 37-year old fighter, after allegedly making $150m, doesn't take a nothing fight against Jessie Vargas (after pleading to the public that he's taking the fight because he has a family/community to support).

Everybody knows who Oscar, Floyd and Manny are worldwide, ask a non boxing fan about Canelo and in most places and they wont even know who you're talking about, especially outside of the US.
Golovkin's nowhere near the B-side attraction that Floyd or Manny were when they fought Oscar, or Alvarez was when he fought Floyd (and none of those guys got anywhere near 30% of the pot, with Floyd getting a high-water mark of what amounted to 25% for his fight with Oscar).

Oh and just because Golovkin fans view Alvarez as having been humiliated or as being pressured doesn't mean he is. 50k people showed up and almost 300k tuned in to see Alvarez fight. He won by KO. You really think they were turned off by that? Also, I agree that Trip can gain, but the Jacobs fight has to churn major revenue. I'm not sure he can gain much off an non ppv fights that both promoters will be hesitant to sell high priced seats for to increase revenue. Lastly, sure Alvarez is out until May, but what fighter won't risk getting KO'D for a Cinco de Mayo pay day. He could fight any popular fighter and erase any gains Trip could make.
