You want a bigger split? Move up! Dare to be great! You fought Dominic Wade! Who the F##k is Dominic Wade! Then you fight a Welter Weight! Huh? "Most feared man in boxing" but you keep calling out smaller fighters: Mayweather, Pacquiao, Cotto, Canelo. I thought you were only interested in unifying the MW titles? Yet every other word out your mouth is about Canelo who is a super middle weight. Triple Gay = fraud.

Just a cheap smear campaign by Golden Boy to save face. Trying to buy out GGG with an insulting none offer for a fight happening in 12 months. I think they are scared that Canelo will lose to Lemieux or whoever he fight next in the buildup and then is worth nothing to GGG, they also realized Canelo did terrible PPV numbers and his views are rapidly decreasing, next one will be even worse while GGGs momentum is rising.

Real negotiations start come May, when we can gauge both fighters market value and progress at Middleweight. Two biggest draws in the sport, while GGG is much bigger internationally and there wont be no flat fee. Whoever supports Golden Boy in this case is dumb as ****. Let them talk, all they do is try to save face and sell Canelos next fights by saying oh we fight bum xxx because we fight GGG in Sept 2017.

To me it all seems that Golden Boy doesnt want to make this fight at all. only talk, if they want to make it happen dont talk through the media and talk to K2 and the Herman Brothers. This is just a smear campaign.

it's good to see the media finally exposing little g for the corny fraud that he is. constantly *****ing about nobody wants to fight him but he's always pricing himself out vs the best guys. did the same with andre ward then tried to call him a liar to save face. now goldenboy is offering him WAY over his career high. he just said they would offer him 2 million to avoid the fight. now they've offered him over 10 mil plus ppv upside and he's quiet as a church mouse. he been doing a lot of talking lately now he wants to let his team talk for him. man up and sign the contract.

              This thread is really interesting.

All solid arguments from real boxing fans.

All the biased trash and troll attempts by the dummygraphic and GGG haters.

Damn I am loving it. Real boxing fans are so much more educated and have actual common sense and reason than the typical demographic hater.

You deserve some green K. Oscar and Canelo are easy to figure out. GGG still got Canelos balls. They wont come at a discount.

                    1. They know that they look really bad for vacating the belt and ducking Golovkin, and aside from the GGG hating trolls on this site, the majority of boxing fans know that's exactly what happened. The Canelo-Smith PPV numbers show that he isn't popular enough to sell mismatches. So they make a lot of noise about wanting the fight (not in May of course but a full year from now) so they sound like they really want it.

                    2. They know Golovkin will become more popular in the next year when he is likely to face Jacobs (next best MW) Saunders (unify all the belts) and a third fighter (Andy Lee or Eubanks both seem possible and entertaining), whereas Canelo is going to only fight once, against a middleweight who probably isn't top 5. His trainer has said he won't fight slick guys like Monroe, which means they don't want Saunders either. So who is he going to fight? Some no-hoper like Rosado. So it makes sense to try and lock Golovkin in now instead of later, when he coulf demand a higher percentage.
This is the sensible analysis of the situation.

I also disagree that Golovkin has no leverage because Alvarez is the A-side. Based on the lukewarm buy rate for the Smith fight, fans are telling GBP that Canelo isn't a superstar like Floyd Jr who could command big revenue even when cherry picking scrubs. Casual fans, especially in Mexico, want this fight more than Canelo does. So long as he delays the event, his credibility (and therefore his earning power) drops further. GBP and Canelo painted themselves into a corner. They need to make this fight.
