exactly. There is a small percent of hardcore fans who troll the internet and then scream how big of a deal he is. But most casual fans either don't know who he is or do know who he is but don't care. Will not rearrange their schedule to watch him or put down money to watch him. He's really screwed now because HBO already refuses to give him another PPV unless it's against Canelo. There are already reports that they will not pay for the Jacobs fight which means if K2 wants it they will have to pay out of pocket or take it out of GGG's pay from HBO. Nobody in the UK cares about GGG unless he is fighting against a UK fighter. And those fights clearly do nothing for HBO or his US fanbase. And oh yeah he's 35 an old fighter with no much time left because he wasted his entire prime fighting bums. He's not a superstar and likely will never be based on age and the type of fights he makes.

when they realize this fact, and stop being stubborn, then he will have his stardom and legacy cemented

their is no easy route to that level...hype only gets you so far
The 2 biggest fights that could of altered GGG's level of stardom he refused to budge for. Ward at 168 and Canelo at catchweight below 160. Tried to big time Ward screaming I am the A side come down to catchweight. Then foolishly tried to demand Canelo move up to 160 for the first time and fight him rather then drop down in weight when Canelo is the biggest star in boxing. Now he is already doing interviews saying that even when Canelo moves up to 160 he won't fight if he doesn't get PPV upside a big enough split. Mofo you look dumb as rocks and continuing to fight the guys you fighting has gotten NO WHERE.

this is just sad......not only was golovkin fighting a welterweight but it didn't do the numbers that he so wanted. this was suppose to be a super fight in the minds of HBO that would bring them great wealth (thats why they ignored brook being a welterweight in the first place) but then u want to turn down jacobs? you want to let golovkin hide behind lies when ward wanted him at 168?

the problem is hbo thought golovkin simply getting knock outs would lead him into superstar status & belittled & ****ted on their other fighters because of it. HBO sole focus was golovkin. this was the one to them. (ward can just move up. ward can go to hell and fight kovalov) now that he isn't nearly what they thought they are treating him like ****. denying him his jacobs fight, lampley ****ting on him through out the broadcast "golovkin looked just down right horrible!"

            this has become disaster.

if you want to truly see a great middleweight look to hopkins.

Much less than usual for GGG. I wonder how this compares to other broadcasts at this hour (recall that this was not at the typical time for an HBO Boxing Main Event).

Also, how were the Sky numbers?
