So his fanbase who cares so much about him just illegally watched the fight rather then support him by watching it on HBO? Because like I said HBO doesn't offer a live stream for their fights. And HBO viewers couldn't care less about GGG as the ratings prove. Just like his PPV sales last year but I guess his fanbase is so big and they just illegally watched the PPV as well. Or maybe this massive fanbase you talk about just doesn't exist and that's why HBO won't give him another PPV and why these ratings tanked.

Personally I paid the $17 for the monthly subscription just for this fight. If you don't have cable or are on a tight budget I can understand streaming it online. It doesn't really prove much; it started at 2:30 pacific and did decent numbers.

It's a real shame. If a television network cannot sell GGG, given his crowd pleasing and seek and destroy style to the casual viewing public, then perhaps he is in the wrong sport. Boxing has declined so drastically in recent years. If Gennady Golovkin was in the MMA/UFC right now he'll be ruling it with an iron fist.

Because we all have eyes and can see the competition he chooses to face is laughable. He beat a bum on house arrest that is in no credible top 20 rankings and beat a WW who hasn't even proved himself at 147 and dragged him all the way up to 160 in a mismatch so bad the WBA wouldn't sanction it. Want to blame someone blame GGG's camp for making these type of fights the man is 35 and hasn't had a single relevant fight yet.

To be fair, a lot of people didnt know the exact time for the fight. Hell even some of the posters here including regulars were unsure of the timings.
Some thought it was later on the day some thought it was earlier. Then you can only imagine a casual keeping a check on time. Many people missed the fight.

I would say this is true. When I told a friend of mine "GGG-Brook is today" he assumed it was at 10-11pm saturday. He then realized he missed the fight and got upset at me for not telling him the fight was at 5-7pm lol, he missed the fight for not knowing when the time was. So that's actually a legit reason why GGG took a ratings hit people just were not aware it would be at 5-6pm

Lol so hilarious how angry these people are over GGG. If you don't like him just ignore him, it's that simple.

Posters are not mad over GGG. they are reacting to certain GGG fans that are trying to skew the numbers because GGG didn't get the rating they thought his "star power" would generate.

A similar discussion took place after the PPV sales were released when he also didn't meet his fans expectations and they tried to fudge the numbers.

Finally someone with some logic. And since usually its the same night prime time at what GGG fights, many people were unaware of it. I actually realized this when people on a Facebook Group of GGG fans didnt even realize when the fight had started.
That's the case. He, GGG, is only growing and I can't see any reason why he wont be able to break 1M against any fighter,

The official number for unique viewers for both time slots have already been posted. The guys that crunch the numbers have conclude 1.43 Million 1st time viewers. That's right around were I projected.

Did I say Golovkin needs to abandon HBO for PBC? Did I say PBC is growing the sport or developing stars? No.

Golovkin's numbers are the same as they were for the Murray fight, that says no growth. With the Jacobs situation coming up, there's an opportunity for a temporary new platform, for some different exposure. That's just basic marketing, but don't let me rain down on your little ******ed celebration.

people know who porter is more so then brook in america. porter puts himself out there. porter has been on the breakfast club sway in the morning and other media outlets.
