Gerry Cooney? Jerry Quarry? Kelly Pavlik?
    Actually, Motorcity Cobra is right.

On another hand: who's preventing anybody from watching both boxing and MMA? Both boxing and MMA share ancient roots.

And, in fact, MMA recent popularity in the U.S. emerged from Dana White's promotion -- which is successful because it's highly professional and market-oriented...

Maybe ufc is more for casual followers? I wouldn't know, I only follow boxing.

Morrisson was the White American HW hope, at least briefly. He had lots of white Americans following in the 90s, especially. But for some reason, I think just as many whites were fascinated by Tyson, for instance.

I think you meant "can't"? but tbh there are 5 white fighters in the top 10 pfp. There are only 3 black and one of those is half-white.

It's a red herring anyway, Bob is using race to excuse selfish boxing promoters.

The biggest problem is people are starting to see what boxing has really become! A "BULL****" sport! People are also tired of getting ripped off! The world had to wait 5 plus years to see two of the biggest names put on the worst anticipated fight ever. Yes, those guys got paid but it crippled the boxing game. Just look how Manny & Floyd's next fights flopped! People are tired of all the excuses these fighters give for not fighting the best. Haymon has signed a bunch of fighters over the years but look at the crappy fights he has produced! Fighters are asking 5 times their worth to face a good opponents. Fighters are waiting until guys get old before they decide to fight. Fighters claim they'll face anyone but never step up. And the FANS deserve a lot of the blame as well. You keep supporting this BULL****, so they keep giving it to you. Instead of demanding your favorite fighter to face the best, most of you argue in chat forums about how much money your favorite fighter makes, who's ducking who, PPV numbers, your fighter's net-worth, PPV flops, religion, he's boring, and the worst of them all,"a fighter not having a big following so he doesn't deserve the big fight". The fans are so delusional, you criticize Kell Brook for doing something every other middleweight refuses to do! So call boxing fans are stating he's just cashing out! Does he suppose to fight for free? Give some credit to Thurman/Porter for stepping up! Give some credit to Ward/Kovalev. Give some credit to Crawford/Postol who are the legit top two fighters at 140lbs, instead of calling out the PPV numbers! Please tell me why Vargas doesn't deserve to fight Manny when his resume over the last year is better than most of those other guys you think Manny should fight! Fans should show more support for those guys who are willing to fight anyone; Bradley, Porter, Crawford, etc. and start calling out fighters who refuse to step up: Garcia, Jacobs, Canelo, Saunders, Stevenson, Eubank Jr, etc. Having a belt doesn't hold much weight in today's boxing scene because they give them out like candy on Halloween. Wake up people, fighters, promoters, managers will not change if the fans keep doing the some ****. People are gravitating toward the UFC because you're almost guaranteed to see a good fight card no matter the popularity of the fighter. It doesn't matter the color of the skin. White people will watch a exciting boxing match just like anyone else!

Another dumb, greedy ******* who doesn't realize that people don't like being forced to pay for mediocre fights. Instead it's about race......FOH old man.

SMH, look at this dude, can't even get half of the words spelled correctly talking about how whites can't compete, lol. Fool, you need to get your (presumably non-white) ass back in a classroom somewhere.

Wow I said this years ago on BS, and have been saying it for years. I never agree with what they lying POS snake Arum says but in this case he is correct to an extent. The UFC is only as popular as it is for two main reasons....1- because it has a large # of white fighters so it appeals more to the NFL/MLB/NHL/Nascar demographic and 2 - because it is a sport where you can compete without being very deeply skilled. So many young people see it as a sport they can excel in. I know people that have trained in MMA for just weeks/months and went and fought competitively. Boxing is a far more difficult sport/science and it takes more dedication to your craft and years of training. It is a much narrower, deeper skillset. Of course with todays culture no younger people are interested in anything that actually takes commitment, discipline and time. They want quick satisfaction. So they run out, train in MMA for a few months, buy the corny gear with the brands all over it, run out and get inked up to look really tough, then go out and fight. Boxing is traditionally a sport where people came from poverty or areas with no hope or opportunity (whether that is a ****** in America or some 3rd world or bad country) and fight there way out. 90% of MMA fighters are probably from the suburbs or are college wrestlers, etc. There are always exceptions of course in both sports but I mean overall. I just cannot grasp the UFC/MMA because I cannot stand the fact that when someone is getting beaten up they can just tackle the other guy and hold him down on the ground. That was a complete ***** move when I was growing up and we were fighting in the streets. Now its a sport lol.

Based on Bob's previous comments on the UFC I can only assume its cuz they joined the KKK or some Neo-**** skinhead group.

                      That's real fighting
I hope your kidding. Thats the reason many fans are switching over to ufc. The slick running bs is whats killing the sport. Fans want to see action and fightinf not running.
