Ikr.....he fought in the same decade as guys on the list and was voted the best in that decade.

Jones was clearly better than Chavez and Lamotta...both legends but they are not on his level....prime for prime...he did things in the ring they could only dream of

So you like Golovkin who refuses to fight good fighters but you hate on Wlad who did?

And what "very" good fighters did he beat? Toney and Hopkins. Every single other win, apart from beating Tarver in a close first fight was against shot fighters (Tito who put on a good performance), c level opponents (hi Ruiz) and so on.

Now, I'm not saying Jones doesn't deserve recognition for his consistency and the fact that he looked levels above those he DID fight but when we're talking top 10, we're talking the creme de le creme. I dunno who is alive and who's not but there are many all time greats who would deserve a mention above Jones.

however, I would rank him above Lamotta whos place above Pacquiao and Holmes is very weird indeed.
Name them. The topic is the greatest "alive." If you think there are 10 better alive than Jones, name them.

Saying "You don't know who's alive but there are many that should be placed ahead of Jones" is a contradiction.

I'm not even going to get into your blatant lie that Jones beat all shot fighters outside of Hopkins, Tarver and Toney.

I can possibly understand ranking him above Lamotta but I dunno who else is alive atm so Jones may not get in the top 10 cos of some other names.
he should be over chavez and lamotta

Lamotta was a great fighter but do you think he could beat roy jones 160-175...hell no, he'd get embarassed.....Also roy had more success at higher weights than Lamotta and was more dominant, had more skills.

you do realize frankie friggin randall beat Chavez and he was younger than Jones when he lost to Tarver...he was 32

Also should have lost to Meldrick Taylor...ref call so I wont complain, but he definitely lost to pernell whitaker

Chavez was overrated as all hell. Chavez has no win on his resume that *****s a prime 43-0 james toney....sorry bro....keep reaching.

Jones beat Hall of famers Hill, Toney, Hopkins, and McCallum....how many hall of famers did Chavez defeat again?

Also Chavez fought almost twice as many fights and Jones beat as many if not more world champions and titlists

Chavez beat no names, and cans during his championship years...people talk about Jones fighting guys like Rick Frazier but dont bring up Chavez fighting guys with less than 10 fights and pro debuts when he had over 60 fights

Also Jones won titles at more divisions and was just flat out more dominant and had more talent than chavez

he is only their because of a win over Robinson, who he outweighed over 10 pounds.....he doesnt belong.....that was a nostalgic pick

I'd probably put him in top 15.
