It was Loeffler. When he got the offer from Ward he didn't ask for a catchweight, as some people keep saying. Loeffler told Ward that if he wanted to fight Golovkin at 168 he should come back to them in 2017, because they would be focused on 160 till then.

If you're trying to blame Golovkin or his team for talking about Ward, that's hypocritical. They've talked enough **** about each other over the years.

Second, I've explained multiple times that the whole 164 CW crap happened after the fight was dead for months. It was not a demand and it was not an offer. It was an off-hand comment from Loeffler that took a life of its own. Both the nuthuggers and the haters latched onto it and twisted it to their own agenda.
When they were talking about that fight in early 2015, it was Ward's desire for tuneups that scattered that fight. I do not blame Andre for that, he was coming off a long layoff. That's just how it fell. Golovkin was in line for a Cotto shot, who was a lineal MW champ and a big payday. There's nobody on the planet who would have agreed to the Ward fight and risk a potential showdown with Cotto. In hindsight, if we knew that Cotto and Canelo would be full of baloney, he should have taken Ward's deal and fought him this spring. But that's hindsight - it's always 20/20.

As for the 'lines in the sand', that's not true in any shape or form. Golovkin's team has never made anyone jump through hoops to get a fight with him. He has never priced himself out, he has never insisted on a catchweight and he has always offered to meet the other guy half way. When he said he'd fight Floyd, he said he would meet Floyd at 154. When he got the fight with Gabriel Rosado, who was coming from 154, his camp offered a 157 CW, which Rosado rejected.

Sanchez talks a lot of crap and contradicts himself sometimes, and Tom Loeffler is 'too nice' when talking to other promoters, but overall, Golovkin's team is exemplary.
Good points, but wasted on people with such a strong emotional investment in "li'l g ducked Ward"

Funny how not one single "journalist" bothers to ever ask them if they weren't offered the fight at 168 like we know they were offered...but then again its boxing so facts don't always play out in the open. They were offered the fight at 168 and said no, and I think folks need a reminder that this happened long before the return at LHW. 164 was mentioned by Abel and him only and he even said it was "a fk you for turning down the fight the first time".

I wonder how long GGG and Ward's names will be attached to each other. Especially on this board

NO, that is NOT true actually.

Ward was ready to go immediately following the Smith fight.

When asked if he was ready prior to Smith..... Ward said, no I need a tuneup.

Immediately following the Smith fight Ward approached Team Golovkin and he was ready to go..... but that is when he found out about the 164 demand.

                That is utter bull****.

                Selective memory right there.

Ward approached Team Golovkin immediately following the Smith fight..... and that is when they pulled the catchweight demand.

They pulled the catchweight demand as soon as things started heating up LMAO

And NO, that was not an off-handed comment by Loeffler..... that comment was made repeatedly by every member of Team Bull**** including Gennady himself.

And to think I congratulated you on your honesty yesterday, wtf?

                * when asked prior to Smith, Ward wanted a tuneup
                * immediately following Smith, he was ready to go
                * immediately following Smith, Ward received the 164 demand (refusal)

Just ask me, cuz I got about a gazillion links bookmarked LMAO

                  NOPE, wrong again.

Immediately following Smith is when Team Golovkin demanded the 164 catchweight, it was back in July 2015.

You " guessers " are highly amusing

And wow, what a coincidence, your "guess" just so happened to benefit Golovkin greatly LMAO

It was the 2nd time in 2015 that Ward approached Team Bull**** and was told "maybe 2017, we are only focused on middleweight"..... but guess what, guesser..... ?

..... Team Bull**** couldn't help themselves and IMMEDIATELY started called out Carl Froch again..... yes, at 168 LOL

Again, just ask me..... I got all the links in the world.

Then again, you know I do..... because you have seen them already.

                  Oh well.

Another blatant bare-faced revisionist LIAR !

You creepy ****s couldn't lie straight in bed.

Every member of Team Bull**** made that demand, including Golovkin himself.

And btw, Dirty Sanchez made you fanboys look REAL DUMB when he categorically denied demanding a 164 catchweight from Ward about 2 months ago LMAO

And yep, just ask me..... I got links proving that.....

                      1) Ward wanted a tuneup before Smith, not after..... following the Smith fight he was good to go

                      2) the 164lb catchweight demand was designed to kill Wards FIRST offer (June/July 2015), and was made by every member of Team Bull**** including lil'G himself

                      3) it was Wards 2nd offer to Golovkin via Roc Nation (September 2015)..... that was turned down in 36 minutes flat with..... "maybe 2017"

                      4) Dirty Sanchez LIED, and denied demanding 164

ALL on record, and all EASILY verifiable via a simple google search

Golovkin doesn't even know you exist..... so, why lie ?
