Hypekin should also have fought Cotto and Mora, especially Mora.

They had no excuse to avoid Mora back in 2012, an ex-champ who has clearly faded is the perfect opponent for someone who is trying to establish himself.

They are clearly avoiding movers/spoilers, there is no question about that..... and it also looks like they want nothing to do with a genuine world-class fighter regardless as to how much money they will make, because they should have wanted to fight BOTH Canelo and Cotto...... like everyone else.

And Lara never advised his team to make the GGG fight (not to mention the problems that would arise from the tv contract dispute). Cotto paid step-aside fees, then would have vacated had he beat Canelo (now is fighting down at 154 like Canelo). Oh, & Mora tried to compete at 160, & failed.

So, technically, you don't have a boxer to offer. That's the hype man for ya.

Sturm was the WBA middleweight champion and GGG was the interim champ and Sturm's mandatory challenger. The WBA didn't have a "super" champion at MW back then. Their "super titles were supposed to be awarded only to unified champions, and Sturm wasn't a unified champion

Sturm's promoters then made a large donation to the WBA and the WBA created a "super" title at MW and nominated Sturm to fight for it. But not against Golovkin, who had been his mandatory challenger for 2 years. Nope, Sturm's opponent for his "super" title fight was Giovanni Lorenzo.

So why did the WBA not match the existing champ and his mandatory challenger for the new "super" title? Why bring in somebody else, over Golovkin's head, who had done nothing at all to earn a title shot?

The answer to those questions is that that was what Sturm's promoters were paying for.

To any fair-minded boxing fan, Sturm was a paper champion from that day on. You could call him the super champion, super duper champion, whatever you like. He was a paper champion and Golovkin became the real WBA MW champion by beating Nilson Tapia for Sturm's old title in Dec 2010.

Sturm ceased to be the real WBA middleweight champ when he ducked his mandatory challenger and started defending a phoney paper title, which had been specialy created to allow him to do just that, instead.

In no other sport but boxing would a governing organisation even dream of pulling a stunt like that. But then, no sport but boxing has fans as ****** and hypocritical as you.
