Wilder is a seriously flawed fighter who makes for entertaining TV. As a boxing fan, I'll never have any complaints about that.
Name one of today's heavies that isn't.

Be made at that fat Russian for doping.

If could be him we see getting splattered instead of Arreola.

Don't get me wrong, the Meldonium drama is completely Povetkin's fault, but Wilder took this chance to run the hell away from this fight - I don't exactly blame him, since fighting in Russia is a dangerous proposition.

But let's not act like Wilder wants to fight Povetkin.
Of course Wilder wanted that fight.

Dude loves to fight...don't project your fear-based life onto Wilder.

Well we know Povetkin didn't want Wilder.

Wilder didn't avoid anybody...He didn't cancel this fight.

The Russian was scared..so he tried to cheat.

They postponed it for more testing. Subsequent testing came back clean. Povetkin is still mando.

It was Wilder who tucked tail and cancelled the whole thing. Nobody else. There is no other organization that made that move.

How I see it he was forced to fight Povetkin or vacate. He took the money to fight Povetkin but didn't feel confident. At the first hiccup, a legal microdetection of a recently banned substance that came up clean in retesting, Wilder's team saw an escape window and took it.
Exactly. His handlers set Povetkin up with the intent of getting paid the full purse without fighting, get Povetkin suspended from competition (eliminating him as a possible opponent in the future), and face a bum as an opponent.

His team is very crafty, crafty indeed.

Can't think of one, which is why I enjoy almost all of that division's fights.

Lol, I don't think anyone was set up. If someone set up Povetkin with PEDs they would have chosen some red handed ****. Not an exempt microtrace of heart medication.

They just took the opportunity to bail on the fight before the investigation concluded. Lame. It was the most interesting HW bout this year. Extra lame move now that Povetkin tested clean right afterwards.

This whiner... geez. So here's the challenge... find ONE recent interview where he doesn't whine about the Povetkin issue. And that will still be the challenge in 2-3-4-5 years. How much mileage does this goofball think he's allowed on the issue anyway?

Furthermore, why would Wilder voluntarily put his career on hold while the investigation continues? Would you demand Povetkin offer Wilder that courtesy if the roles were reversed? Wilder is already on record as being su****ious of Povetkin before the failed test, where's the motivation for him to believe Povetkin could possibly be clean?

Lastly, has Povetkin explained why he was taking heart medication in the first place? I'd be interested to know his answer...
To enhance his performance, obviously. That isn't the issue though. The issue is whether or not the results indicate residual traces from before the ban, or evidence of post-ban use. That's what this whole situation hinges on.

Provided he's cleared and passes all subsequent tests, there's no reason Wilder can protest this fight.
