Thats not "creating a barrier", its invoking common sense

And its not even a question of "is he worth it?", its a question of "does that revenue even exist at this point?"
We'll see. This should be a PPV, especially if Crawford/Postol is. With that said, if GGG/Lemieux did 150K and broke even/made a profit the purses here should be somewhere in that range.

you have to start with hte fact that he's a JMW.

now, i don't think it's unreasonable for the best JMW to fight the best 160 lber, especially if they're both high ranked p4pers, but is lara really a high ranked p4per to the point where that's the fight that's got to be made?

if lara really wants to make a case for the fight, and i think he's got some crediblity in believing that he does when you consider the willie wades of the world, he should really be fighting at 160 lbs.

golovkin holds, as far as i can tell, most / if not all of hte trinket belts. i don't pay them enough attention to tell you more than that. if you fight in his division, in time you'll be a "mandatory" if you keep winning. fighters are avoiding this process to avoid the golovkin fight. team lara is certainly doing themselves no favors by staying at 154 lbs.

if HBO offers to pick this fight up on ppv, pay the fighters what they deserve, and golovkin sidesteps it, i'll be dissapointed. might even call it a duck. but if lara goes to 160 and forces the fight and golokin still ducks the detractors will be accurate in calling golovin "protected."

for now it's blatantlty obvious that the groundswell of support for lara is really just a backlash against golovkin. i've been watching lara for a long, long time. again, he gets a reputation in part because of a backlash against golovkin. watch angulo. watch carlos molina. watch canelo. these fights happened! you can argue that the dude still has vanes problems .

does golovkin need two fights to get a clear win over vanes? **** no. he'd put vanes in a f#cking hospital.

In short, they're scared for their boy and the hype surrounding him.
Before the fight: they scared, they know Lara will expose triple g.

After the fight: it was a cherry pick by triple g, Lara lost to canelo already everyone knew Lara had no shot against triple g.

            My problem with that is:

            1. GGG puts Jacobs in the hospital. Pirog already did. Mora had him on the canvas until that freak accident. That's not a reason for a fight not to happen.

            2. Lara/Canelo was 115-113 either way. They are the same caliber/class of fighter. Neither has fought at 160, has fought a MW contender and would be at a minimum, 4 to 1 dogs against GGG. Do you think Canelo knocks out Vanes or Molina? I think the fights play out in similar fashion, personally.

Regardless, why does one guy have to establish himself at 160 first, while the other guy is getting ridiculed and not getting a chance to establish himself first?

            3. You ignore the fact that NOBODY at 160 doesn't want to fight him. Canelo, Jacobs and Saunders have all avoided the fight already and will likely do it again.

I admit, I could be jumping the gun on Canelo, Saunders and Jacobs. But based on history, I have a good feeling that I'm right.

and when GGG **** lara a new butt hole then we get the usual "lara lost to canelo already, we knew he had no chance against GGG" ...

Lara's talking the talk when he knows GGG is in talks with Canelo right now, and that is the priority. Lara is not a proven entity at 160, and if a plodder that can't even cut the ring called Angulo can beat the hell out of you, then so can GGG.

If the Canelo talks end, then Lara can be considered.

He's been talking up a GGG fight for a while, i just wish in that time that he would of made the permanent move to 160. It would of at least got the ball rolling.

So That's the synonym for running. Thanks for clearing that up, Dunn.

MDPopescu brought this up in a debate with me and now the shitbag wing of the GGG fanbase has adopted this as their the new mantra.

Don't fight because if you win you will not get credit. GTFOH.

Canelo looks scared. Jacobs is busy. BJS is afraid. Lara is calling him out. The fight may not appeal to casual fans but it will appeal to boxing fans. It's a very winnable fight for GGG-I would call it 85/15.

I see no reason why they do not try and make a good faith effort to make the fight happen. If lara insists on $3 mil, well then no fight and move on.
