The only people who call it running are new age fans like you that have no idea that cutting off the ring is a basic skill you learn as an amateur. If you don't take the time to learn it, doesn't mean the other guy should stop moving.

In basketball if you can't shoot free throws, you get fouled more, not less. In football, if you can't stop the run, teams run more. Why in boxing are you asking a guy not to fight the way he has the best chance to win?

GGG should have the skills to cut off the ring. if not, too bad.

And fúckin get real, Lara just had a fight where he lost 4-5 rounds against the #15 ranked contender at 154. Vanes is game, but he is obviously not very skilled.

Gennady would destroy Lara. Destroy him. Total waste of a saturday night, and what would it change? All we'd hear is "When is Gennady gonna fight someone who can test him?" or "Ward!! Fight Ward and prove yourself." gtfoh. Because the only way to prove you're the best middleweight is by beating the best super middleweight? That's some airtight logic right there.

But fúck it, even if this fight is a giant waste of time and money, I say bring it on.

Because obviously you mulignans are never gonna shut the fúck up about it.
He did call him out. You don't speak Spanish, so you didn't hear it. Some Spanish speaking people will not say the V in his name for some reason, they can't pronounce it, those who don't speak English. So he said Canelo and "Goloking". Just cause you don't understand Spanish and the translator is notoriously terrible, doesn't mean Lara didn't call out GGG

New age? There's effective moving & then there's running. Most fighters only resort to running when they're hurt. Lara incorporates it as a strategy to avoid getting hit. It's difficult to trap somebody who's constantly running away. We both know that you support that argument because that's the style your boy used, particularly in the latter part of his career. Two fighters get into a ring to fight. Suggesting that if one decides to run away, it's the other's responsibility to run him down in order to make the fight is silly. If everyone spent an entire fight running, fans would be annoyed first, then lose interest & boxing would die.

          1. GGG puts Jacobs in the hospital. Pirog already did. Mora had him on the canvas until that freak accident. That's not a reason for a fight not to happen.

          2. Lara/Canelo was 115-113 either way. They are the same caliber/class of fighter. Neither has fought at 160, has fought a MW contender and would be at a minimum, 4 to 1 dogs against GGG. Do you think Canelo knocks out Vanes or Molina? I think the fights play out in similar fashion, personally.

Regardless, why does one guy have to establish himself at 160 first, while the other guy is getting ridiculed and not getting a chance to establish himself first?

          3. You ignore the fact that NOBODY at 160 doesn't want to fight him. Canelo, Jacobs and Saunders have all avoided the fight already and will likely do it again.

I admit, I could be jumping the gun on Canelo, Saunders and Jacobs. But based on history, I have a good feeling that I'm right.
So true. But they say it's cause Canelo won the 160 titles, which they have a point for. They also said that if he drops the belt then he's all good in the hood and there's no problem Green Goblin. Clearly that's not the case, people took issue to him dropping the belt and expressing that he still wants the fight

In reality you are correct, Lara and Canelo never weighed more than 155lbs on official scales. Lara was once 170 vs Smith but otherwise he's been 160-164 throughout his career (164 vs 174 vs Angulo), I believe Canelo's biggest weight was 173 (anti-Canelo fan speculation of 175-180lbs aside)

Lol hey comon, Eubank Jr is not that bad. But yeah Lara is preferable to him.

I don't think like you. I enjoy styles and matchups. I don't have my heart sold on any individual fighter.
I just think Lara is full of ****.
There are steps he could've already taken to force this fight if he really wants it and thinks GGG is ducking him.
All Lara has done is talk about it before he has a fight coming up to generate interest.

Yes it is difficult to trap someone who knows how to move and is in great shape. So what?

The objective isn't to fight, it's to win, or did you forget that? Basically, you and many others want Lara to fight in a way that doesn't give him the best chance to win.

I didn't suggest anything of the sort, thats you and others over exaggerating the point then trying to argue it.

Please, stop the BS. For a hundred years we had boxers that moved. Trainers knew how to teach fighters how to cut it off. Hence the term "styles make fights". the sport did fine.

It's simple. Canelo, Suanders and Jacobs are all scared or busy. Lara is calling him out. Let's hope a deal can be made. If so, GGG is a highly skilled boxer who should be able to neutralize Lara's skill set and achieve victory. If he can't and he ends up losing to Lara, so what?

I guess we have different interpretations of the what the sport of boxing entails. A skilled boxer can stand in front of his opponent and avoid serious harm. He can block, parry, move his head, duck, shift his feet, bend at the knees and/or torso, counter & attack. A less skilled boxer can...run & pot-shot.

We both know that the vast majority of boxers over the years did not spend matches running around the ring.

I would love to see Golovkin knock Lara's fleeing ass out. Book it!

Running is what ODH did rounds 8-12 vs Tito. Lrara isn't going to do that. He is going to use his length and movement to box like ODH did rounds 1-8 to tito.

I think it's likely GGG wins by KO.

Lara will start out at a comfortable jog at first. But after he feels Golovkin's power, he will break out into a full circular sprint.
