    Big fish small pond

Of course not. There are about 10 guys who could KO Kovalev at 200. There are none at 175. Easy money for Kovalev, lopsided crap for fans. The ward fight is crap, Kovalev crushes Ward. Kovalev does not have the hype Can-o-yellow has so it will not sell much if it is PPV. Chickenson will never get in the ring, hopefully Shabransky, Beterbiev or Gvozdyk will some day in the very very distant future fight Kovalev. 175 -200 separates the big guys from the little guys usually dominate little fighters like Kovalev are an anomaly, they generate an abnormal amount of power for that weight and fight only inside a small 7 pound weight class. Big fish in small pond in other words.

Kovalev may be too small for cruiser, though I suspect he'd still have a good deal of success, but there's a **** ton of talent coming through at 175, the division is one of the most exciting in the sport right now - what good reason would he have for moving up?

Quite aside from anything else Kovalev has built his career in the US, whereas Cruiser - whilst a competitive division - is almost totally Euro dominated with little apparent interest in the States.

Interesting and true. GGG and Kovalev.

Only ****** haters want Kovalev or GGG move up to see them lose eventually. Truth is both have no reason to do so and unfinished business at their weight class. It's not their fault that they are much more talented than everyone else. Deal with it.

It would make no sense for Kovalev to leave 175 if he beats Ward. If he goes on to unify and beat Stevenson, I think he'd be up there as one of the top LHWs ever.

Kovalev at cruiserweight would be interesting but only if it's a new permanent home. I'd rather see him unify at 175 if he can.

There's just too much "greatness" (bull**** prearranged outcome catchweight title swaps followed by 2 years of interims and stepasides) in boxing for me. The fewer fighters "daring to be great" the better.

Not including Ward as BS by the way... It seems his move to 175 is legitimate and permanent so all credit is due.

Yeah, but Kovalev has fought the better opposition...GayLoveKin hasn't fought a single top fighter in 35 fights. Kovalev is also at least going to face Ward.

This is crazy talk from Kovalev.

Cruiserweight is not a glamour division.

If Krusher got a W against Ward he would be the undisputed A side over every cruiserweight on the planet. That means he would only need to move up 1 measly pound to start collecting world titles by draining B side bitches like Usyk and Lebedev, then knocking them TFO.

War Kovalev! Unified, undisputed cruiserweight champion of the world, at 176lbs!
