Why don't you compare their resumes at similar points in their careers?
Hopkins was 36 when he beat Trinidad.
Golovkin is 34.
Hopkins beat Trinidad 6 years after he won the IBF.
If Golovkin beats Canelo this year, it'll be 6 years after he won the WBA.

Many of GGG's opponents were not bums but top 10 world rated middleweight contenders. Murray for instance is rated in the top 5 in the world at 168. That's hardly a bum.
Its all about perspective .

**** Abel Sanchez. Attention Whoring prick. Hopkins arguably beat everybody he's ever fought outside of Kovalev. He unified all the middleweight belts 1 by damn 1. He beat Keith Holmes, William Joppy and Felix Trinidad to prove he was the legit best Middleweight. GGG hasn't done ****.

Keith holmes? Comon man...who the **** did he fight other than hopkins, let alone beat? Hopkins also lost to a raw and limited taylor. Hopkins mw resume would be picked apart on here if it was ggg's plain and simple.
As a matter of fact at 168 to 175 a 50 yr old Hopkins would probably beat GGG .
Best thing for GGG to do is fight some real fighters and nobody would trash him !

Ward would be the first real elite class fighter to get in with him thats why people want it , I dont think anybody really hates GGG , they hate his resume and how he fighting B graders like Wade , the guys resume is a joke never fought a MW , never been in a 12 rounder , his resume has guys with more loses than wins , its so bad I cant believe it , imagine if he ended up in a coma it would be all over the world that Wade should not be in the ring with GGG , this can end up real bad for boxing .

Well I have to agree with Sanchez here. Hopkins did fight smaller guys and personally, I always thought he was a tad overrated.
