GGG should have said NO that opponent could get seriously hurt , he likes to have the easy fights thats why its on .
Fighters fight man. I don't think it should be his job to dictate anything to sanctioning bodies...maybe his management team could. Me personally, i don't think he should care one way or the other if the ibf stripped him or not...but he seems content on unifying the division. I don't care much for this fight, there's better opponents out there. It's on cuz other mws don't want to fight. I hope he can fight jacobs next now that there's been talk of it.

They were small after he schooled and beat the breaks out of them. Before that they were favored, except DLH. Winky, Trinidad, Pavlik were all favored to beat him.

So what middleweight should he fight? Cotto didn't want it. Canelo doesn't.

Those are two big names, who have also been the last two lineal middleweight champions.

The class of those guys puts GGGs entire resume to shame and they are a very small part of what Hopkins has done and achieved in his career , Bernard is an amazing fighter I doubt there will be another like him .

Hopkins as a 50 yr old would fight GGG right now at 168 and teach him more about professional boxing than he thought was possible .

Why don't you compare their resumes at similar points in their careers?

Hopkins was 36 when he beat Trinidad.
              Golovkin is 34.

Hopkins beat Trinidad 6 years after he won the IBF.
If Golovkin beats Canelo this year, it'll be 6 years after he won the WBA.
The topic was opponents who moved up in weight which is why I didn't get into the topic of their ages.

              You obviously lack reading comprehension.

Why would I not be okay with it? Those would be his two best opponents. It would also make Sanchez look like a hypocrite.

I can remember on this site a lot of people were expecting Pavlik to knock Hopkins out. Of course the standard excuses came out after the fight.

Conveniently ignoring everything in Hopkins career prior to the middleweight tournament.
