PAY UP BOB! Sorry but I'm on the fighters side here just like for Walters vs Loma. If you want big fights these fighters have to be PAID! These are 2 World Champions and it would be a Unification Bout. Both should be Reward Well for stepping up and fighting each other! Give them what they want to make it happen!

Bob is in it to make money. Do you really think if there was a way to pay these guys and for him to make money, that he would'nt make it happen? Crawford has a loyal following, but to justify more money, you have to generate more revenue. Not like Postol is bringing anything to the table in that regard. And not like this fight is huge on the casuals list. This is'nt some superstar matchup. Don't know what the actual money he wants is, but if he wants 2+ million that will require Broner, Pac, Bradley and maybe Mikey Garcia down the road.

Or for all we know it may not be the dollar amount, but the split.

If that is truly what he got for Lundy, than he does deserve a bit more for unifying titles. He should use that in his argument for more money, that he will have to pay another sanction fee on top of his own title fee. If Arum basically offered him the same amount, he should be asking to negotiate. Can't fault Bud too much here.

The problem is there is no more money. The fighters asking for more = the fight doesn't get made it's that simple! Crawford made 1.2mil his last fight while Lundy only made 150k. Well if he fights somebody good that figure for his opponent is going to go up a lot more then 150k which doesn't leave much more money to pay Crawford. You can't pay Crawford 2-3X more and still afford to pay for his opponent and the rest of the boxing card without the promoter/network losing millions. Because despite what Crawford thinks he's not a big draw and a fight with Postol doesn't draw that much more ratings then a fight with Lundy. And neither of these guys can draw PPV's so where is the money going to come from? Hell even PBC can't afford to pay at this rate which is why you seeing a big shift in the amount of fights they are making and fighters purses are going down for mismatches. It's just a foolish model to overpay guys for mismatches and showcases especially guys with limited fanbases.

Lara made 1mil last year to fight a bum outside a rainy tent with legit 100 people watching live and a fight that drew horrendous TV ratings. If you pay guys like that then they demand more for step up fights that they could actually lose and the money isn't there to pay them so fights don't get made.

Giving him 1.21 million to fight Lundy was a HORRIBLE idea, considering the budget HBO has to work with. If he was offered anywhere south of 2.5 million for Postol, he's not taking it because he can expect to make 1.3-1.5 fighting anyone. The Lundy fight proved this.

Instead of blaming Crawford, let's blame Arum. EVERYONE expects to get paid more for taking on harder work. If Crawford stayed in the 500k-750k bracket for the circus shows against midgets, that 7 figure payday would be taken quickly.

Arum/HBO are in a tough spot because they have to keep up with the Joneses (Al Haymon). If Crawford isn't happy, he may not stay too long.

Its not Top Rank's fault....but remember Crawford is with Cam Duncan who like haymon, is also known for getting his fighter's big purses for easy mismatches.

Anyone know what Crawford's contract situation is with Bob? And does he got a exclusive HBO deal? Crawford might just be in a fight or sit for 2yrs like Mikey situation & in that case fighting 2yrs worth of Lundy's is the superior option lol.

It makes sense Crawford is thinking like he's thinking (again assuming this is all true). He's been hyped as the next Manny/Floyd/Oscar type guy by TR since before the Gamboa fight.
