yet another post from some one truely lacking in reading comprehension....do you even know another fighters name?

Hell the people who dislike him mention him more than his fans....last time I checked....every utilizes footwork in boxing, its how you apply it and understand it. not my fault most posters on this site have the boxing IQ of a rock em sock em robot.

just some keyboard warrior who talks tough and knows very little about what it takes to be a fighter....keep fighting the good fight...those who know the sport see you as a joke

You've literally spent the bulk of this thread arguing about Mayweather.

If you knew a damned thing about boxing, I'm sure you'd have more people agreeing with you on this boxing forum. Sadly, that's not the case.

If you thought Eubank was evasive, you clearly didn't watch him get cold ****ed by Calzaghe in the first round. Nor did you see him use his face for defense against Collins. And the fact that Michael Watson was manhandling him across 8 rounds in the rematch must have escaped you.

Trust me - I'm 100% a Eubank fan, have talked with him, loved the London Real segment, loved his story over the years, but you got to be realistic. The man was not a fan of evasion. He was a come-forward fighter with knockout power and an iron chin overall. He didn't need to evade.

Dude, you can't count threads talking about how fat Hamed is. Or that he only faced bums. Or that he was overrated. Or that he was lazy. Because that's all I see from people on boxing forums.

I don't see anyone talking about when Hamed dropped Said Lawal with one punch within 5 seconds of the round. Why? Because it went so fast nobody remembers. Fast knockouts, nobody remembers, nobody cares. It's the distance fights people remember and care the most about (Hamed/Barrera).

Faulty logic. Rigondeaux is not a big name for the same reason Josh Clottey isn't: he's not American. That's just the sad truth.

Look at Gamboa, look at Chocolatito, look at either Klitschko, look at Golovkin, look at David Haye, look at Lemieux, look at Saunders, look at Shiming, look at Lomachenko. Only boxing purists know who these cats are. However, if any of them walked through an airport, wouldn't nobody know who they were.

I guarantee you though that no matter where Shannon Briggs goes, people will know who he is. Because he's American. Nobody remembers his championship reign, it didn't last long enough. Nobody remembers that he suffers from asthma. None of that matters. He's American. Americans get marketed more, marketed better.

            Dinamita. A legend. Let's see.

            - Schooled by Tim Bradley
            - Schooled by Floyd Mayweather

Now what's the common pattern with those two fighters? They know how to box and they don't take risks (at least Bradley didn't in this fight).

So it seems to me that Marquez's take-all-risks style is like a good reason he isn't higher than he is. Nevermind the fact that he hasn't faced anyone who was truly a threat to him. After the boring showing against Barrera, Erik Morales would have put him out if Memo Heredia wasn't around.

Again, MMA is there for you, you can see all the action you want. Conor McGregor was in fine form against Diaz. Beautiful punching until he got choked out. No "dancing" to be seen. Just dial in and watch the MMA fights and get your fix. Come back to boxing when you want to see evasive skill.

Of course Mayweather can do wrong, but he didn't do wrong against Manny.

The two fights I can recollect where I specifically criticized Mayweather were the Judah fight and the first Maidana fight - and those were because Mayweather is absolutely better than that and chose to fight to please fans. What good did it do him? None. People still criticized him afterwards. There was no point to dumbing down his offense.

The video showcases what's important. It ignores rounds 4 and 6. Even Floyd gave those rounds to Manny in his interview. But they don't matter, because 9 of the remaining 10 rounds was all TBE. Problem is some of you don't understand how effective a jab is at nullifying offense and you personally don't like that.

You just want to see everyone go out there and end up like Magomed Abdusalamov or Gerald McClellan. I don't.

Nah, I just don't like to watch a fighter blatantly run, grab, hold and pot-shot for the entire fight. Believe it or not, I found that Mayweather's fight against Guerrero showcased his defensive & offensive skills well. He didn't run, he actually ducked and avoided the punches that were thrown when they were thrown. He said himself that he felt that he knew what punch Guerrero was going to throw before he threw them. That's fighting skill, not that shit he did against Maidana in their second fight. Maybe Maidana was just too relentless & tough to fight him any differently.

              Good shit:

              Bad shit:

Maidana, according to you, is giving it to Floyd. Yet you are upset he did things to stop this and try and win.

What would you have preferred, that he not adapt or change and take a beating like Broner?

I've been on this board a while....most people on this forum have never stepped foot in a boxing gym, trained, sparred or anything...Iv'e made several threads and others have posting their experiences in boxing and martial arts and there are only a handful who participated........so what value does them agreeing with me have? None

I wrestled in 11,12 grade in high school, did tae kwon do in middle school, my official boxing training and studies started around 04-05 and ive always been a huge fan...especially when Roy was the man in the 90s...im from columbus ga and we arent big boxing town....football or baseball here...when I moved to the A in 03 i started going with my homies to la boxing in sand springs and i've been a student of the game since.

I visit my friend Tony's dojo quite often, Chapman's Shotokan Karate...Decatur Georgia...check it out on facebook...they took footage of me training and teaching. wont take a rocket scientist to figure out who i am. We've had Kumite's...trained together the whole 9...Ive been in combat sports whether training or teaching half my life thats why it rubs me the wrong way how some people act like no it alls but dont even know the proper boxing stance or simply how to make a fist

Putting Maidana in headlocks and otherwise seeking to grab & hold whenever he got close is not what I consider adapting. This is boxing.

If what you say is true, respect. I respect most everyone, no matter their background. But as a fighter, I'm surprised you don't differentiate strategic positioning, maneuvering & striking from blatant running, grabbing, holding & pot-shotting in boxing. Or rather that you approve of the latter.
