There is a discussion to be had by UFC heads if going to a niche market like HBO makes sense to them I imagine. The UFC has largely grown off of free TV with monthly PPV's. Adding a premium cable tier might not be something they are looking to do. The reality is HBO & the UFC have talked before & I believe they will talk again as the allure of boxing dwindles with younger people & the appeal of MMA with younger people increases.
And lol at UFC being bigger than HBO. Last I heard the UFC was worth about 4B & HBO about 5x-20x that.
HBO has less than $25 million annually to spend on HBO Sports.
Like I said, ******ed.

Maybe they'll just f#ck with a lesser MMA league if they can't afford the UFC. Either way I suspect we'll be seeing MMA on HBO sooner or later.

Originally posted by Eff Pandas View PostI doubt HBO gets outta live sports completely, but we'll see about that. And there are a bunch of lesser MMA leagues. The guy who started Pride just finished his non-compete clause & started Rizen which is already a player in MMA with just 3 events.
Nowhere... ******ed
