It's a cultural thing. As Americans we don't mind, but canelo would probably lose half his fan base if he did it.

I remember Johnny tapia, who fought more like a mexican, losing a lot of that fan base for 'stylin' during fights.

haha. I thought so but I wasn't sure. Being a teacher I deal with young people all the time. The second I think I know what something means, turns out I'm not even close.

He weighed 153 vs Trout, his team offered 150 previously and at that point in Canelo's career he routinely weighed 150-153 and was not to far removed from fighting at 147

Nothing he could have done would have changed the result besides him changing his game plan and imposing his size instead of playing chess with the chessmaster....should have been playing chess and roughing Floyd up
                  Stop lying man!
Canelo weighed in at 153 1/2 against Trout, and before the Mayweather fight, he weighed in the previous five fights at 154 or near. The 150-153 fights you mentioned happened in 2010/2011 when Canelo was 20 years old.

Boxrec now forces you to login to see weights. See for yourself. If weight wasn't a factor then Mayweather wouldn't have requested a 152 CW you moron.

                    Canelo was green.
And it was at a catchweight.

                      Meant nothing...

Floyd's win over Canelo proved NOTHING at all. Canelo was drained as badly as I've seen a fighter drained. Think Hoya/Manny. Why didn't Floyd fight him at 154lbs? Like he did Oscar and Cotto?????????? Exactly. Sit down! Floyd is a tool and a narcissist for even bragging about this particular win. Why don't he come out of retirement and fight Canelo RIGHT NOW!?!?!?!? He'll get his cheating ass beat! That's why. why don't he give Manny the rematch he deserves????? Because he KNOWS he'll lose without roids, paid judges, or a paid ref. F U Floyd! Stay retired. We do not miss you at ALL!
