Last week Dan Rafael reported that PBC on ESPN was pushed from Jan to March to March to April and now pushed back to AT LEAST June (who knows if that date gets pushed back further). That means best case scenario over 8 months without PBC on ESPN. And now Showtime announces their schedule for Spring/Summer so none of the Haymon big names will fight on PBC until Fall? PBC shows have fallen off a cliff going from about 8 cards a month last fall when all the TV deals kicked in. To just 2 shows in Feb, only 1 show in March. It's almost mid March and there are only 2 shows scheduled for April and NOTHING past April. And Showtime has all Haymon's fighters past April. So if PBC does put on any shows this spring/summer who will be on those cards?

Looks like all these stories of PBC running out of money were true. I mean they paid all these millions for air time on these networks and are simply not going to use them for AT LEAST the first half of 2016.

It's really simple, reports come out that PBC investors lost tons of money last year. If Haymon fighters fight on PBC then his investors pay the purses and production costs for those shows and based on reports from LA Times each show is losing millions because TV ratings on PBC are bad and they are getting little money from advertisers. They are giving away free tickets because they can't sell them so it's just mass amounts of money going out each event and they are not even close to recouping those loses. So Haymon sending all his fighters to Showtime under the old model where Showtime pays the fighter purses and production costs.

The more time that goes by the more this entire PBC thing looks like a disaster. Starting to think it was always just a ponzi scheme to steal millions from their investors.

Boxing is getting its ass kicked by the UFC lately. There are no stories and very few significant fights on the horizon. We're hoping and praying that Kovalev-Ward and Canelo-GGG gets put together while the UFC is rolling out #1 vs #2 match-ups for every event.

If the matches get made there's potential for a great last six months of 2016. But the way things are going it's hard to be optimistic.

Good fighters normally get their shot in the UFC. So if they're good enough they can rise quickly. Boxing isn't like that. Talent is move much more slowly. Good fighters are swerved for years.

But what I dont like about mma is how brock lesner was 1-1 when he became a champ it's pathetic
and its not the same as in boxing like Loma who won two gold medals. Lesnar was a PED user and a wwe clown and he got a shot

It actually is the same in boxing as either Rigo or Loma doing that. Lesnar was one of the most decorated amateur wrestlers in the USA before he went into the WWE. His record was 106-5 and he was huge hulk of a Heavyweight, he actually had to make weight to fit down to Heavyweight (they have an upper limit in the UFC).

Lesnar first loss was to Frank Mir, one of the great HWs of this era, and Couture was a undersized and old Heavyweight even as Champ. Lesnar is a freakish athlete, what he did isn't typical of the UFC really. Many of the guys entering UFC have long and disguised careers in fighting before entering the UFC the problem is that theres either no money in being a Judo, Amateur Wrestling, BJJ or Kickboxing champion compared to the UFC they are usually fully fledged fighters in one or two martial arts by the time they enter the UFC and they pick up different aspects of the sport along the way.

Then you're not looking far enough. The Olympics is going too be a BIG DEAL! No headgear, pro-style scoring. This adds excitement and drama. Other than the immediate big fights that you mentioned in Canelo-GGG & Kov-Ward, lots of young talent on the rise are getting close to the point of breaking out soon, like Errol Spence, Verdejo, etc. I've said this numerous times in numerous threads, but we're transitioning. The old stars are ending (Floyd, Pac, JMM, Cotto) and new ones will rise. We are transitioning from the old guard to the new, which always takes a bit of time. Be patient!
