GGG needs an opponent, Where are all the noise makers

Why should Lara send an offer to Golovkin? He's the B-side.

GGG needed an opponent last year and he picked Willie Monroe because according to Abel Sanchez "He was the bigger name".

Cut the BS. HBO needs to maintain his aura of invincibility to keep the ratings up and nobody looks good against Lara. GGG is not ducking him but if they don't need to make the fight they won't.

Monroe being more popular is BS, i agree but i've given my reasoning why Monroe was chosen (see post above).

in my personal opinion Lara will lose this fight and will lose it badly but the only difference between Lara and Monroe is the purse and that is why GGG's team isn't rushing to send offers to people like Lara's because even though they might have some name recognition, the cost of doing business with them (purse split) is unpractical unless they start pressuring, making noise at times when opponents are truly needed. also right now as opposed to last year i think the pressure is even bigger on GGG to find a decent name such as Lara... with the Canelo fight looming.

hey i agree but HBO is only willing to pay so much, if HBO is only willing to shell 2-3 million for a fight which seems to be a pattern with GGG fights... and Lara wants 1+ million this means he might even end up taking the lion's share of the purse... what champion in their right mind can make an offer to a contender from a lower division who isn't even the top dog of that division (but one of a few top dogs) and split the purse 50/50 or worse.

people ***** about Monroe that he isn't well known but he took 100k, while GGG took 2 million (thats a 2.1 million purse). how can GGG vs. Lara be done if right now LARA makes 0 noise and wants at least 1 million (means GGG would take almost a 1 million pay cut if purse stays the same).

sorry... correction, GGG made 1.5 million so total purse split is 1.6 million. which makes it even harder to make fights with fighters like Lara who are getting grossly overpaid at PBC.

Respectfully, you can't be serious about Lara and Monroe. I get the are both perceived to be "slick boxers" but one has a litany of amateur and pro experience and has quality wins over top flight comp while the other is Willie Monroe.

Very different levels that Lara and Monroe occupy.

I agree with you, even though i want Lara to make noise and entice team GGG to make that offer. if GGG took the initiative and made an offer it would be great though i doubt it would be even close to what they offered BJS. like you said BJS has something they want.

i think they wanted that belt so they can make the fight with Canelo even more enticing for the unified/undisputed/linear MW title.

i am not saying that they are the same, i dont think i compared their skill levels. i am just saying GGG would handle Lara easily, i truly believe so. GGG's ability to cut the ring, counter punch, jab, body punching, will neutralize Lara's strength's and that's why i feel that GGG would take care of business easily with Lara. Triangle theories don't work but if you can take anything away from how Lara looked against certain fighters then you know he struggles with relentless pressure, and all that GGG does is relentlessly pressure.

You know, a way to get the ball rolling on negotiations. I don't know when the fans decided that the champion and the A-side needed to chase fights with guys in lower weight classes. Again, like I told the other guy. You think GGG should just be sitting around waiting for a call from Canelo's team? They have proved they want that fight by doing everything in their power, short of attempting to have Canelo stripped, to get that fight. I see no such effort from Lara. Talk is cheap.
