Why are so many pure boxers or former boxers picking Byrd over Wlad?

What it all boils down to is who had the greater mind and will. Wladimir's confidence and chin are about as suspect as Tony Blitz' internet activities, whereas Vitali was the more confident and composed fighter of the two. True, Wladimir is the better athlete, but Vitali is light years ahead of him in boxing intelligence. Vitali knows himself better than Wladimir does.

I'm not a big Klitschko fan, and really not a big Byrd fan, but, I see Byrd taking this 12 rounds and winning the UD. Byrd has fought some hard hitting boxers before, and has even been put on his ass just to get back up and win the fight. He's tough. He doesn't have a whole bunch of power, but he does have good skill and speed. Wlad on the other hand to me it seems like he is always worn out by rnd6. Even though he looks to be in shape, his stamina isn't all that. I think Wlad will throw some bombs early and wearing down where Byrd will take over. Wlad will win the first 3 or 4 and then it's Byrd the rest of the way.

Possible, but I highly doubt it. Wlad had enough energy for 12 rounds against Byrd back when he still spent too much time in the weight room and not enough time in the ring. Now Manny has him ready to go 12.

For Wlad to gas out, I really think Byrd is going to have to put a lot of pressure on Wlad, which I just do not see working. If Wlad wants to take alittle rest, he can just sit outside a jab. If Byrd really finds a way to hurt him (which I doubt), Wlad knows how to grab. It is just a complete sytle disaster for Byrd.

That being said, if Wlad wants to show he is not just another belt holder, he needs to knock Byrd out. With out a knock out he is just another big white guy with a belt

Wlad is by far the most gifted HW boxer out there. People are jelous.

I have a serious question about this. While most people seem to be expecting another dominant performance by Klitschko, myself included, so many purists in boxing, whether current or former champions, are picking BYRD to win!! Among them are Roy Jones Jr., Floyd Mayweather Jr., and Lennox Lewis. Now here's where the serious part comes in. Do they want Byrd to win or do they truly think he will? I wouldn't bet 10 bucks on Byrd to win this fight, but these guys think he's going to win. Call it racism or whatever you want, but I gotta know why you think they're picking Byrd.
