Has no choice but to fight on, hasn't made nearly the kind of money he'd hoped. Could probably live OK but doesn't seem to have the people around him Maidana has to make financial investments.

When was he ever a real champion? Is he counting interim belts like Robert Guererro?
He's got talent it's just he's around the two toughest divisions out there. How you gonna knock a dude that fights the best and comes up a tad too short??? And FK Postol! They let his @ss cheat! He should of been deducted MULTIPLE times for holding but instead received MULTIPLE warnings and wrist slaps!

Not hard to win when you have 4" reach advantage and you can just punch, grab, hang all your weight on them, and then repeat...

You guys want to know how it is fighting Klitz or Postol??? Spar when someone and then let them just put all their weight on you for at least 5 seconds multiple time a round! The sht is fkning CHEATING!!! Ref's need too stop that sht and early but they don't and by the time the points start coming off it's too late! Your fkn tired from not only carrying your weight but also theirs the entire fight as well. 1-2 points in 7,8,9 rounds aint sht! I've seen fighters warned like 10 times without a point deduction. THAT BS!!!! That ALWAYS favors the taller, longer reach *******!

            Unfinished Business at 140

There is a lot of unfinished business at junior welterweight for Lucas and better fights can be made for him there.

He won a classic fight against Provo (not sure how in the hell Provo survived after that onslaught) and then he got beat by Postol. In my opinion he took him lightly and underestimated Postol big time (just as most of us fans did). But he can rebound, and is still 1 or 2 fights away from another shot.

This guy puts fans in seats. Period. Right now the majority of the Top junior welterweights or under Golden Boy and Top Rank. Where as the majority of the top welterweights are under Al Haymon. Golden Boy will not let Sadam Ali fight Lucas until his mandatory against Tim Bradley. So I'm not sure what major names you can be put in with at Welterweight.

Lucas should aim for guys like Provo, Jessie Vargas, Jose Benavidez, Antonio Orozco, or Mauricio Herrera. All these guys would be good fights for Lucas and any of these guys will get him a title or a title shot.

Look for to seeing Lucas in 2016, he still has plenty left in the tank.

No. I've heard the idiom used both ways and I like the latter.

Lucas is one of my favorite fighters but his loss to postol made me think Matthysse just doesn't have that hunger anymore.

But i hope im wrong and he can get that fire back cuz the guy can when motivated.

Moving To Welterweight, Matthysse Will Soon Be Finished

Love Matthysse, but he's at the end of the road. Couldn't handle Postol's size, power or skill at 140, he'll never handle 147lbers who walk around at 150-160. They will be careful to match him against any full fledge welterweight; they'll try to get him paydays against smaller, lighter hitting guys like Khan, Algieri, maybe Crawford, but not Garcia managed by Haymon who Oscar still has a $300M lawsuit against. Matty may very well end up one & done at 147. He's shot, too many wars.

What? So he can only fight cans like the rest of the welters?

I don't see that working out too well for him tbh.
