i shouted for MAB when they fought due to the fact he was a ****y arrogant ****, but I have to take issue with some of the things said on this thread, he was not a protected fighter nor a bum, he held the WBC WBO and IBF belts in the 90's do your research you ignorant joke. Keep embarassing yourself idiot.

He was undoutedly the featherweight of the 90's universally acclaimed as so.

He was way past his peak when he fought barerra, not in terms of age but in retrospect in his career, he had split fomr his trainer and long term mentor Brendon Ingle and was never the same fighter. In a similar way as tyson wasnt post Cus passing away.

He started to believe his own hype and while he was soundly beaten by MAB it would have been interesting to have seen him in with Marco while he was still with Ingle.

I couldnt stand Hamed, but you shouldnt let his personality get in the way when judging his undoubted talent.

I never had a problem with those practicing Islam, until Hamed showed up.
I dislike ******s because of Hamed, not the other way around.....lol.

personally I'm not interested in any kind of religion but I don't discriminate people(except fanatics of course) based on this coz it's just something personal
please don't spread **** like that

....Yes, your right there is absolutely nothing to dislike about Islamics. They are a peace loving non violent religion that places women on a pedastal and would never stoop to acts of terror. Hell, all of the problems in the middle east have nothing to do with ******s at all. In fact, I think it was white anglo's that downed the twin towers. STFU and put the towel back on your head.

You may as well include Catholics too then, what with the IRA and all.

LOL!! uhh ohh! You better watch out pbds they might try to chop your head off, or call you an infidel if you have a different viewpoint then theirs. It feels good to know that if I tried to talk about my God in an Islamic country that I could get my hand chopped off or even executed, yet my country and its citizens give more to Tsunamia aid than any other nation. Oh yeah I forgot, Saudi Arabia gave a whopping 10 million. Go ahead flame away Allah nuthuggers

Hamed was, is, and always will be a ****head. I live near his home city and have seen him in his Aston. I knew it was him from the reg plate. You couldn't see his face, just the top of an oversize head sticking over the top of the steering wheel. He won due to his reflexes but it was a great day when MAB kicked his arse, and no ammount of skill excuses him being a ****head.

                  Lol

I didn't really think too much of how he handled himself, and that was before I ever knew he was a ******.

I guess it should be divided into two categories:
-how someone is personally, or how they act
-how they are in the ring

                    Musilms in the ring:
                    Danny Williams
                    Prince Hamed
                    Mohammed Ali

well, I don't know too much about Ali, but at times he was a arrogant boxer, but in life, as far as I know, he was a good man.
Danny Williams, hasn't impressed me in the ring too much, outside of it, he seems to be a nice guy, maybe said a thing or two he shouldn't have, but that's prolly due to his flamboyant trainer.
Prince Hamed... well, way arrogant, so didn't really like how he carried himself, BUT was a good boxer in the ring

(wow, I loved watching MAB beat him up, even if only due to the way that the Prince entered the ring.. I won't give it away for those trying to see the fight (if that parr is even included)

Anorak, I'm guessing that you are a ****** from maybe India or Pakistan and you like to support boxers that share similarities with you?
If so, I can dig it... Many of the boxers that share my faith, I do not care for as boxers (even though I think my favorites believe in my religion). But I do respect them as people, such as Chris Byrd... look at when he fought McCline. After, they both prayed and showed sportsmanship, that's cool. But I don't perfer them or dislike them due to their religion (even though it's almost inevitable at some point to favor one of your own faith over one of another)

so, it's doubtful that most who disliked him only did it due to his religion..

                    wow, i'm long-winded today
