Tyson Fury shook up the world and changed the landscape of the sport.

      There is no other answer.

People I see are quick to over hype quite a ugly win against an obviously aged fighter. Fury did win but did so in quite an ugly and unempressive performance. Personally I find it funny how people want to claim distaste for Mayweather and are in bad taste sucking off Fury who won in an even more pitiful performance. Yes, I give it to Fury the fact he beat a long standing champ, but this is a champ many critized for a lack of opposition in what has obviously become a division of Super Heavyweights while Wlad was fighting glorified cruiserweights.

Personally it's a toss up between two very lack luster performances that unfortanitly when bringing up FOTY its not gonna be a fighter who is brought anything of note or great interest from casual fans. Most fans wanted an intermission because of coming close to falling asleep!

The performance was not a classic but it doesn't matter. Fury has given us one of the biggest upsets in years and done it for a true championship and not some worthless trinket.
          1) I dispute the claim that HW is currently the premier division.

          2) Yeah Wlad reigned for 10 years, but over what? Who did he beat? Besides, his brother could have dethroned him any time he decided to, so Wlad was allowed to reign.

          3) Fury won on how many punches? 86? That's 7 punches landed per round.

I dunno'. I have a hard time with Fury as fighter of the year based on the Wlad upset.

BHop...he didn't box one round this year and I didn't have to deal with the nerves I get right before his fights....round 12 against Krusher was the worst feeling I've EVER had watching a fight....so he's my PERSONAL fighter of the year for PERSONAL reasons

That said, I would go with Floyd or Fury...can't go wrong with either fighter imo

I'm comfortable with cutting it short and giving it to Mayweather. Let's face it, we had P4P best guys of this last era in the same ring fighting each other.

One of the highest quality matchups we'll ever get. Whatever people have to say about the fight, I know that when I was watching Mayweather-Pacquiao I had tons of nervous energy the moment the bell rang.

Right after the final bell rang, we knew the winner of May-Pac would be the best of this era, can you tell me Fury's place in history just right now? How do we know he isn't a one hit wonder?

Manny got sparked by an ATG, whom he holds a win or two over, no shame, however Wlad having trouble with a guy who started boxing at 24, worked his way to a shot in 6 yrs is something to think about.

Since when did entertainment become a criteria for fighter of the year? Mayweather and Fury both clearly beat two hall of famers and current top 5 P4P fighters, who cares in what fashion they won in as long as they got a clear victory.
