How the hell do you propose making those fights if one loses? Why would Kovalev fight Ward if GGG beat his ass down. Why would Cotto/Canelo fight GGG if Ward beat his ass?

If you can't see that this is the way to get 2 good fights, GUARANTEED, then that's on you.

If GGG beats Ward's ass then he can fight Kovalev, if GGG gets his ass beat then he should do what fighters do after losses, try to get back on track. Hell, the Canelo/Cotto vs GGG fight would be made much easier if GGG lost to Ward cuz this will give them confidence of beating him, Canelo/Cotto winner have no interest in fighting GGG in the near future even if they get stripped of the paper WBC belt, and they've clearly stated that.

Yeah they made an offer when GGG had already signed for another fight. Great.

It makes sense for Ward to move up. There's a mega match for him at LHW, also, 168 has been dead for him for years. He literally has nothing to gain by staying there.

So what if he was? Kovalev is already signed to fight Pascal and there's an agreement in place to fight Ward later in the year.

A similar deal could have quite easily been agreed upon with Golovkin but the powers that be wanted to push Ward up to 175 so Golovkin would never have to fight him. It's just blatantly obvious.

And lets not act like Team Golovkin have ever been receptive to the Ward fight, they've been making excuses why it shouldn't happen for years.

HBO want Ward vs Kovalev and GGG vs Cotto/Canelo winner.

Both of those match ups make more sense than GGG vs Ward.

Why does it have to be either or? We could have had GGG vs. Canelo, then GGG vs. Ward then Ward vs. Kovalev.

You'd think most real boxing fans would salivate at the thought of that but we know why some don't.

A quick little look of the past to the present and you will see why there aren't as many black PPV stars -

One, the sport has got more competitive with many more countries coming into the fray of it
Two, stylistically not every fan is going to be interested in watching Rigo, Lara type of fight in all walks of life you pay for what you get and I doubt Lara or Rigo would have been a huge worshipped name in any era for their fight style

And finally IF you don't think there is going to be some black PPV stars coming up anytime soon I'd say you're more than wrong with Bradley at his rate, Crawford continually improving?

This time next year, they will make the claim that Ward is ducking Golovkin when the latter conveniently decides to step into the Super Middleweight division.
