A quick little look of the past to the present and you will see why there aren't as many black PPV stars -
One, the sport has got more competitive with many more countries coming into the fray of it
Two, stylistically not every fan is going to be interested in watching Rigo, Lara type of fight in all walks of life you pay for what you get and I doubt Lara or Rigo would have been a huge worshipped name in any era for their fight style
And finally IF you don't think there is going to be some black PPV stars coming up anytime soon I'd say you're more than wrong with Bradley at his rate, Crawford continually improving?
Broner would have been one If he wasn't so damn lazy and its not like he is fighting in a great manner at times his fights can be so lax.
I couldnt even get passed page 2 with so many mornic statements.
Ward didnt force dawson to move down now go cry a river.
Ward has fought at 160, 168 & now will fight at 175 lbs
Floyd is saying that the networks, or powers that be, KNOW who they want as their next star. So those fighters are more protected.
For the love of everything thats boxing...
Wasnt ya lil g fans sayin... well lil g cant duck a division above him. Two different weight classes blah blah blah..... but then say floyd is duckin ggg even tho floyd has moved up multiple weight classes throughout his career.
I think its pathetic that you ggg groupies have no problem defending the fact that ggg can fight froch and chavez jr at 168 but the ward fight at 164. Oh and whats the excuse? Oooohhh its to start negotiations you say? He a small mw doe i dont think so to me i smell puussssssay.
Can you name me an elite fighter that GGG has beaten? You know, like Ward has?
Thanks in advance.
If Murray beats Abraham that will further make Ward's best wins look a bit weaker (AA lost to Stieglitz that does make it look like a not so impressive win) Then we can mentioned the fact Groves was beating Froch in that first fight before a robbery stoppage kind of tells a story about perhaps overrated best wins also Dirrell clearly was robbed against Froch.
Kessler was a good win but he ruined what would be a good win by constant fouling, I don't think Ward's resume is all that it is cracked out to be the manner you beat someone should matter not unless sporting integrity doesn't matter to you?

Imagine: Cotto, Pacquiao, Mayweather, Broner, Marquez, Crawford etc... Never moving up one weight class at the age of 34 and still said they were the best. Can you imagine if Broner stayed at 135 beating everybody and refused to move up and fight the best how we could get chewed up?? Imagine if Broner wanted to fight the best who fought two divisions below him but not one above him. He would be called a "cherry picker."
One minute it is "ggg fights for pride and not the money and wants to go to 154 for Mayweather because he is the best and wants to challenge himself." But when you bring Ward up and if you truly want to fight the best and cement your legacy why not fight Ward at 168? "Ward is boring, and doesn't bring in money, has 2 fans in Oakland and nobody would buy the fight." Hmmmmm.... That sounds like double talk.
When it comes to ggg vs Ward it is all about money and financial sense. But when it comes to ggg facing Floyd at 154 it is because he wants to challenge himself?
This is another one I hear I had to body bag dude. "Floyd fought three times at 154 so he can fight ggg at that weight what's the problem?" And when asked ggg should be pressured to fight Ward at 168. "ggg has never fought at 168 why should ggg go up and fight the best in a division he has never fought at?"
Last time I CHECKED HE has fought at neither 154 or 168!! It is okay for him to go down and fight a smaller going on damn there 40 year old fighter to a division he has never fought in ad that be okay. But needs tune ups and 2017 to fight Ward? So shouldn't do same rule apply. If you should have a few test fights at 168 before fighting Ward?
Why not have a few test fights at 154 before fighting Floyd? Maybe Lara, Andradade? Charlo Twins? Canelo? It is easy as shyt to pick apart ggg fans and double standards. Only people that should stay and fight in one division are heavy weights for the simple fact it gets no higher than that.
Imagine if Tyson was dominating at 160 but scared to move up to face the top guy at 168? Yeah you can't imagine Tyson being scared of that neither can I.
Ward should and will move up to fight Kovalev and I love it. May the best man win that fight. The backlash stems from ggg's team saying they will fight anybody from 154-168 and the media saying EVERYBODY is scared of him which isn't true. I had to do it. Listen to HBO commentary especially Lampley and Merchant when he was there that sums it up.
