Floyd is talking complete garbage. And having seen what passes for rational thought with the Muppet Show, I'm not surprised to see Ward's so called "fans" here all agreeing with him.

So here's a couple of questions for ya'll: Is Andre Ward "daring to be great" by moving up to 175, or being forced to do it against his will, like Floyd says?

And if Andre is so good - the undisputed P4P No1 now Floyd has gone - why are ya'll whining about him being forced to fight Kovalev instead of celebrating that he's being given a shot at 3 world titles as soon as he comes back, instead of having to fight his way back into contention like anybody else would have to?

Europeans (Eastern and Western) and Asian fighters are great fighters. It seems like some people don't like that.
There is a reason why Europe and Asia along with Cuba are dominating amateur boxing.
I don't know why people think these guys are "hypejobs". Oh the media is just building them up. No skill bums these guys are.

I'm hoping more and more of the top amateurs start turning pro. Hopefully K2, Top Rank and other promoters start searching and offering them good contracts. I want to see that talent in the pro ranks.
Some people think African Americans get treated unfairly, yet African Americans don't even have to be Olympians to get a shot.

It makes no sense. Why would they not view Ward as the potential cash cow and force the unproven, unknown Kazakh up to 168 to boost Andre's stock and raise his profile?
It's funny , because I just read an article the other day about how the CEO of HBO was irate that cable providers have begun to not offer HBO inside their bundled packages . The reason this is happening is because HBO is now somewhat side-stepping the cable providers by offering themselves to streaming services which makes them less exclusive and less attractive to a cable provider .

I find this funny and paradoxical in a way , because HBO likes fighters to sign exclusive contracts to only fight on their network , but is willing to damage their relationship with cable en****** to ensure they can collect money from all avenues possible like Al Haymon was doing before HBO got mad .

The very fact that they put him on PPV against such a ****ty fighter like Lemiuex tells you everything. They are trying to shove GGG down everyone's throat.

The poor buyrate is just an indication that the fans aren't biting yet but that doesn't mean HBO won't keep trying because he's the guy they've chosen to be their next star.

Andre Ward was an impediment to that so they want to nudge him firmly in the direction of Kovalev....as far away from GGG as possible. It's the same mentality as a lot of GGG fans on here have. Protect the investment, keep the hype-train rolling.

Is it that or is it that floyd can't stand seeing someone that's not black become a superstar in boxing? U have to remember this guy was brought up in a racist family. Roger is racist too. To them anything anybody does is going to b a it's cause he's black kind of thing. Lame

Floyd actually is an equal opportunity vitriol spewer, irrespective of race creed or color . His outburst are so random that I'm almost beginning to think he has tourettes .

He takes unwarranted shots at Broner all the time and that's suppose to be his buddie . He's also taken shots at Ward in the Past . No one is indemnified .

"Conspiracy To Create a White Star".............................

.........when has this not been true? Mayweather has said some dumb things but this is the dumbest.
Tell me he wouldn't want to have a young white kid who box and punch with the heart of a lion?
Every promotion company in boxing is ALWAYS and FOREVER looked for such a kid.
The ultimate would be a Heavyweight who actually has the personality to carry the sport to the media and sell the sport to the public. (sorry Wlad that hasn't been you white boy) HA!

Floyds funny and sad at the same time, the stripper vid is very sad!

a dangerous, difficult, or otherwise unfortunate situation.
Exactly since there was no mention of a difficult situation, that word made no sense in the discussion. What have we talked about that implied I was in any difficult situation? Take your L and move on

Oh okay, well it seems you don't ahve a horse in this race because whites don't dominate any sport except maybe golf or swimming. Stick to bar games like darts.

GGG/Lemieux was PPV because they wouldn't have been able to fund it without that extra revenue. Lemieux wanted $1.5 million to put his title on the line. Understandable, but Monroe Jr was only paid $100k in GGG's previous fight.

I don't get it why HBO would need to move Ward to 175 to keep him away from Golovkin. GGG is a MW, ffs.

If I had 3 unbeaten world champions on my books, all in different divisions, the last thing I would be thinking about is matching 2 of them with each other. Keeping them all apart and dominant in their own divisions for as long as possible would be a much better idea.

People talk about Ward already cleaning out 168, but Abraham is the only current top 10 SMW that Ward has already fought and beaten. And even if he couldn't get any of the other title holders to fight him, Andre is still the WBA SMW champ, and universally recognised top dog at 168.

If he defended his WBA crown against any half decent contender, that could be built into quite a big fight. A series of successful defences would make it impossible for the other belt holders, or the fans, to ignore him.

My opinion is that Ward can't make 168 comfortably any more, and that's what is actully forcing him up to 175, not "the powers that be".

His explanation for the 172 catchweight for Paul Smith was that he'd gained weight while inactive, and he wanted to see how his body would react to coming back down close to 168 again. People seem to have forgotten about that.
