Seņor Mario Almada, con mucho respeto, but

Cotto is in the well deserved money making stage of his career. He is not the first one nor the last one to milk a title. Not sure what GGG gets from margaritoing Cotto.

Golovkin barely had 97k-150,000 PPV buys. Cotto would never be able to earn the kind of money he's after, if that's all Golovkin brings to the table. You don't make 30 million off of that--that simple. Cotto wants an opponent who brings in his own fan base, as well, thereby increasing revenue.

I've thought it all along that Cotto never truly saw Golovkin as being on his level. To some Golovkin fans, that may seem impossible, but that's the impression I've had. Yes, Golovkin's this new guy on the scene, but that doesn't mean he's earned a shot at the King of the division. Has the WBC orchestrated this whole "mandatory" situation? Sure, but, you need to understand, you CANNOT force a fighter to take part in a financial disaster. Like it or not, Golovkin's going to have to step up and beat someone like Froch, etc, and prove he has a fan base outside of some of the guys posting here.

And don't even come with the whole "scared" excuse. Cotto has fought everybody there is to fight in boxing. He's not scared of anybody. This guy has faced monster after monster after monster, almost all at or near their peak. No one else has done this to the degree Cotto has.

It's just simple economics, here. Cotto believes he deserves a lot of money at this stage of his career, and I agree. And if you want to mention the competitive aspect, then let me remind you that Mayweather is higher than Golovkin on every single level in boxing. He's the true pound for pound king. Golovkin is just a good fighter who's knocking out B-level guys. That's not enough to claim he's better than Mayweather. Period.

If the WBC has problem with it, Cotto will dump the title in the trash, and laugh at how they deal with Golovkin's 97k "sanctioning fees." Cotto doesn't need the title; he'd still be the lineal champion. I cannot believe these guys coming on here and trashing a legend like Cotto. It shows all you need to know.
You are making too much sense for NSB, here comes the unfounded haters....3...2...1.....

        Cotto is Wrong !!

Boxing is sadly changing due to a certain chicken who was ruining boxing over money!

I hope if he beats Canelo he is stripped of his title and humiliated for being a fraud if he refuses to fight GGG at 160

For the people bigging up Cotto's resume . .

              What's his best win?

              An '07 Mosley?

Have never been impressed w/his resume at all. Definitely one of the more overrated names of the last couple decades. He makes for excitement and has a decent skill set. That's as far as it goes in all objectivity.

Though I will five him props for beating Alvarez. That would be a solid win.

He can easily drop the belt, that's all i ask of him. His middleweight reign is a sham no matter how nicely you try to defend it.

Don't worry, I suspect he will. Then GGG can defend it against it against the likes of Hassan N'Dam. Can't wait.

cotto has been a fraud, look at his resume. he couldnt beat pac or floyd. he got manhandled by trout. he fought some of the best but didnt beat them. cotto fans be like, but he beat martinez...like i always tell them, even a hall of fame bound delvin rodriguez wouldve ko'd sergio. that third person quoting just shows you how much of a douce bag diva he is. he will never be greater than trinidad. he'll leave his wife and end up with bryan
