If Canelo wins, he should either got back to 154 or vacate. He should be held to a different standard than Cotto regarding MW catchweights because: 1) he's actually big enough to be a middleweight; and 2) he has padded his record with wins over overmatched AND outsized opponents (while Cotto has made a career out of fighting bigger men...with an exception or two).
I really think that this is a more important fight for Canelo than Cotto. If Cotto loses, he can ride off into the sunset...maybe have one more easy fight on his way out. IF Canelo loses, where does he go? Does he squeeze back into 154, or does he fight mediocre opponents at MW?

I don't know how any boxing fan can say that is ok.
Canelo has been fighting at MW for awhile now. He can't claim he isn't a MW while weighing 168, 30 days out for a fight against Cotto.
Canelo is complaining about size, but he was fine fighting Cotto and Floyd, smaller fighters.
Now that Canelo will be mandated to fight someone who is supposed to beat him, he's gone all diva. (He says fans criticize because he is great, lol!).
It's time to man up, live up to the hype of being the next great boxer.
Kudos to Team GGG for standing up for the integrity of boxing
This is why Canelo doesn't want GGG.
But....But.... I will fight anyone from 154 to 168. Well, except for Ward and Canelo.

Yes im a lil g hater, and for you with jack johnson pic, ward coined the term of little g...This all goes back to all of the BS you idiots were saying about Floyd, and how youre being hypocrites. When floyd was on top I was hoping for the day when you guys have a boxer you liked, so I could use the same arguments you used against Floyd...now since that time is here all you guys do is cry, no facts to support your ludicrous statements, remember when "floyd having belts meant nothing because ANYONE can win a belt, lol. Or when Floyd should move up weight classes to face better comp, lol. Or when floyd sold 900k vs guerrero and it was considered a flop (lil g did 150k). I'm loving trashing this guy, pay back is a mutha

Im getting away from boxing, because since I've been on this site, I see you "so-called" hardcore boxing fans, dont even support boxing ...see PBC. You guys claim they have nothing but mis-matches, but wanna watch the biggest mis-matches in lil g. The fans of the sport make the sport, and since i've seen what a lot of you guys think and therefor do, ive lost my passion for boxing a little, so im just gonna fall back for a while until someone catches my eye, but until then I will trash this bum until he fights some competition, but he's busy ducking Ward...might have to get my combat sports fix with MMA.

Miguel Cotto and Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez are less than a month away from their head-on collision, which will take place November 21 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada. The World middleweight championship is at stake, with Cotto making the first defense of his crown.
Looming overhead, however, is the winner mandated to face the man widely regarded as the best middleweight on the planet – unbeaten Gennady Golovkin. The reigning middleweight titlist is less than two weeks removed from a one-sided 8th round stoppage of David Lemieux in front of a sold-out Madison Square Garden in his first-ever unification bout and also his first Pay-Per-View headliner.
Both Cotto and Alvarez have already begun to speak of what terms they would likely demand in order for such a fight to take place. Alvarez’ name has already been floated as – with a win – a luring prize for the victor in the November 7 clash between welterweight titlist Timothy Bradley and Brandon Rios. [Click Here To Read More]
2. Anyone have the link specifying Cotto wants 155 LB?

Boxing fans are so ridiculous. So many are actually happy and rooting against good fights because they are obsessed with loving or hating Golovkin.
"Hahaha one of the best fighters in the world will never get a big fight that's so awesome and I hope he doesn't!" I mean, what the hell is wrong with you?
