As far as dropping to fight Mayweather I can only assume he would be willing just to be the one to beat him plus a huge payday to go along with it. Everybody wanted the Mayweather fight and at one point Pacquiao too and were willing to concede to certain things to get the fights but Canelo is not Mayweather or Pacquiao.

If you beat Mayweather or Pacquiao you become a star overnight, if you beat Canelo you just beat Canelo.
Golovkin would get his first name opponent, a HUGE payday, an opportunity to become a REAL star, and an opportunity to sell more than 97k PPV's in his next fight.

      Weak excuse buddy.

      Golovkin NEEDS that fight.

Hopkins gave Hoya a reasonable catchweight.

Whether that irrational bias is trolling or just closet racism, we'll never truly know.
Is the current lineal champion the best middleweight at 160 ?

          Aight then..... pipe down !

No, which is the problem. The lineal champion is supposed to be the, "One true champion", and here we have said champion only fight below 160 lbs and avoiding his number one contender.

              EXACTLY !

              You the man !

Funny to hear grown men wetting themselves over that rubbish.

Even Sanchez admitted that Lemieux was no champion.

The situation has been like this for decades, but these asshats suddenly want to cry about it because their current girlfriend needs some hype.

Fighter used to demand the best guy and the biggest win, and they would do whatever they had to do to get the fight.

but Golovkin prefers to fight cabbies and pick up vacant straps.

Hopkins accepted a reasonable catchweight for Hoya.

HBO are paying these clowns too much.

Well, if the " one true champion " made an attempt to live up to his own hype, and made an attempt to be true to his word..... he can have it

                Cotto will fight him.

It would be a good fight for him, I agree but beating Canelo isn't going to instantly make him a big star like you think. The fight would be good for him but he doesn't need it to the point he has to have his mandatory shot at the WBC title and defend his own belts at a lower weight. Canelo is in no position to call for a catchweight, just my opinion.

As far as Hopkins/De La Hoya goes, what does that have to do with the fight we were talking about? Hopkins agreed to a catchweight because he wanted the money that came with fighting De La Hoya , he was the one to bring the money back then like Mayweather and Pacquaio now so he agreed to 158 and beat his ass.

Honestly, who gives a fuc about a belt? Cotto/Canelo don't need GGG, GGG needs them badly because he's a nobody to your average boxing fan. If your not a fan of catch weights then why say you'll fight anyone from 154-160-168? Why say you'll fight Mayweather knowing damn well that fight is a catchweight fight? GGG and his team are a bunch of clowns. The winner of Cotto/Canelo will tell these fools to fuc off and tell'm "your PPV sells tell us you don't make financial sense for a fight."

Ur totally correct and its what I've said....you've got some idiots on here who think I'm only saying it has to be a 160 fight because I'm a fan of golovkin....no I'm not I'm saying it because it's ridiculous situation ....golovkin, canelo and cotto are fighting in the middleweight division you have divisions set out that's been around for very 100 years...as you said Leonard never made hagler come down to 155 or there was no fight....and were a weight division apart at least... I'm a fan more of boxing ...I grew up with it ....I had my first pair gloves at 7..and here you have cotto and canelo just abusing the belt and situation and they think they can as they please ...people don't know this but the middleweight title is the most traditional and hardest weight class to be in and that's over any other division.....I won't say why because I want people to answer why the middleweights is the hardest division out of all of them...only true boxing people will know this....not the idiots
