I remember Roach saying in an interview that Cotto came into training camp in the 170s. This was a while ago, when they first started working together.

Not really, in a mandatory fight, they cannot demand it.

If GGG is dead set on 160, then they take it or vacate.

That will be a problem for Canelo more so than Cotto.

Besides, Canelo benefits from not doing a catchweight.

He rehydrates to the same as GGG.

He can put his body through less strain by doing it at 160.

Unfortunately he isn't , but instead he's taking advice from Laughler and Sanchez who have him entangled in a matrix of lies that is now having him perceived as "The Most Feared" coward in boxing . Unfortunate isn't it ?

Why should he have the MW belts if he thinks he is too small to fight MW?

I just dont understand why people think that is ok.

It would be like GGG going to 168, fight some guy on one leg to win the SMW Lineal Title, and then demanding Ward come down 160 and fight for that SMW belt.
It's. Simple really force the mandatory on the champ refuse the catch weight and the champ walks away vacating the belt you get it without breaking a sweat (because I think do to mandatory status he becomes champ automatically) and champ takes big payday with him. Now you guys get your unified champ in GGG a sorts of belt collector if you will. You do realize that if the Cotto / Canelo fight lives up to it's hype a rematch will most likely happen in which case the belt will be handed over to your guy. And everyone will be a happy camper.

Just goes to show that the winner of Cotto/Canelo has more leverage at the end of the day. GGG needs that winner more than they need GGG. If GGG wants to fight the winner, he will have to make some concessions. Even Pacquiao could be an option for either of them that wins.

Sure, that is possible. If it is close, they could do a rematch, and GGG moves on.

              I am fine with that.

But is Canelo, or is Goldenboy.

Its them who have to watch GGG then go on and scoop up the last MW belt.

DO they want Canelo to have no belts.

              Maybe it is pushed back.

              Lastly, Canelo KO Cotto anyways.

They only have leverage if they feel like they must have that fight.

Problem is, they don't. GGG wants the belts. He says he does not care if they vacate.

He is blowing up without fighting Canelo, if that boy wants none, so be it.

Have you noticed what they are saying about GGG on boxing sites, on ESPN, on Bleacher Report.

I truly believe that GGG does not need Canelo, but it will be the biggest fight very soon

There is a walking around weight that can be anywhere from 15lb to 25lb higher than weight class depending on the fighter and sometimes higher and then there is weigh in max and last, the day of fight weight. Fighters like Mayweather stay fit year round and guys like GGG Who fight so often they are able to stay close to fighting weight all the time. My point is that some fighters walk around weight is close to the weight class they fight in and it is easy for them to cut weight and do not put on much weight fight night. Take Ricky Hatton for instance he fought at 140lbs and walk around at about 175-180lbs.

catchweights are only cool when pac demands them or when GGG wants ward at a catchweight, isnt that right my ducking boys?

Hard to expect people like aldo5408 to understand simple concepts such as weight divisions. You know how dumb the average person is? Well aldo is part of the 50% that are dumber than that.

If he fights Golovkin, he will have to do a same day weigh in as IBF rules require it and GGG's new IBF title will also be up for grabs.
