There's been plenty of great fighters who were much better than their competition, but stayed to clear out the division.

Whats the rush here? GGG still isn't a household name and Ward is a nobody outside of boxing fans. Do people not understand boxing? A big fight like GGG-Ward, you can let that build. That can be a huge fight if promoted right. If GGG never fights Ward, then you can say all you want. But damn, dude is at the beginning of his stardom, lets see what he can do with it first.
I'm calling it as I see it, GGG fights are not competitive and will not be until he moves up. How can you be recognised as a star when you're feasting on over matched opponents ?

These guys he is fighting aren't stiffs and cans and he's mopping the floor with them, if he wants to be recognised as one of the best he should face a legitimate challenge. Before the fight 180/200 pollers had GGG to win by ko, he stopped Lemieux as the boxing world expected him too, where is the excitement in a story you know the ending too ?

You don't get credit unless it is warranted, his victories are impressive but his opponents don't stand a chance before the opening bell, I can't credit anyone in that scenario. If he defeated some of the top guys at 168 I'd resect that more, if he defeated Ward I would say he deserves to be rated as hs fans like to herald him as.

Talk about a spoiled brat of the boxing world, Ward has himself to blame he could have built himself a huge fan base but instead he decided to fight like a diva and cheat constantly and to take poor Dan Goossen through constant time at court when Ward didn't win **** from it, Ward has shown his true colours eventually a total scumbag of a man.
Some 4-5 years ago, I thought that Ward would like to somehow emulate the "Floyd paradigm" in boxing... But what Ward didn't understand was that he didn't have Floyd's charisma and that "Floyd paradigm" (in terms of business alone) was unique and could not be replicated...

Their ain't a challenge at 160 and him sticking around their is a waste of his fans time, but he's pursuing the money fights so I can accept that for what it is, his fans should likewise instead of claiming otherwise.

This whole charade has become boring fast. If GGG don't fight Ward or a super middle next I've no interest in seeing his fights until if ever he moves up.
I'm not some sort of a diehard GGG fan, you know... Golovkin may still fight Ward next fall, let's say...
But make me better understand: GGG has to move up as a must, while Ward doesn't have... and more: Ward doesn't have to fight any of the SMW champs as well, right?

That would have been a PPV fight over in Britain and Ward wanted nothing to do with it, it shows the real act of a spoiled fighter.

So many professional fighters have bad things to say about Ward including promoters, I don't think they can all be wrong on this little man with his over inflated ego bu bu bu I beat you 5/6 years ago you has to travel to me because I have no fans that would travel to Britain to see me hug you for 12 rounds bu hugging = skill.
Wardsaid he would fight Froch outside of Nottingham.

You're user title suggests you have a deep resentment towards Ward, it's ok I understand I saw the Froch fight in 2011 too, Ward made him look ****** and it's ok you would not want to see Froch humiliated again, instead fighting at the level he fought at to see his career out.

Ward is in a position where he can trace to the UK or not as he already holds a convincing win over a guy clearly a level below him. His promoters have deeper pockets than Hearn, and Froch could have allowed it to go to purses unless he had not ran into retirement. Ppv in the UK or not ROC could have won the bid and Froch would have earnt more, his pretty little record meant more to him, unfortunately reversing his defeat against Ward did not.

I couldn't care less what anyone says about Ward, I don't know the guy and I ain't never met him, I know this though. He took 18 months out from his career to free himself to earn more money elsewhere, he's with ROC, their marquee signing and nobody wants to fight him now he is active Froch and GGG being an example !

Smith took Abraham the course of 24 rounds over two fights, that's a decent ring rust shaker IMO after 18 months out, you of course don't like the fact he fought a guy considered somewhat durable because he's now back in action and you can't talk shyt no more about, not convincingly anyway, your posts are humouring me and no doubt everyone else reading this with an iota of informed reading over the the events which have transpired regarding Ward over the past 24 months, lol.

Ward was originally campaigning at light heavy and now fights 168-172 ? 168 before his lay off ? GGG has weighed in last night at he much ? How on earth could Ward fight at 164 when he struggles to make 168 now ?

Do we just want to see Ward lose or do we want to see GGG in a competitive fight ? I know where I stand. I'm not even a huge Ward fan, hell I wanna see him tested too, GGG is clearly an answer to that, and what better than to see GGG in a competitive fight also ! Am I wanting too much just to see competitive fights ?

Who wants to see the likes of Ward face Dawson at 168 and GGG continue at 160 when intriguing match ups can be made ?

Some of these GGG fans and Ward haters are absolutely pathetic, they are the most delicate supporters I have come across.

Yeah they should've let this go on.....

Then the same people cry about fights not being stopped for other fighters...look at how many head punches David had taken to the head before that stoppage...The stoppage saved him from himself. I'm sure Magomed's wife would've appreciated him taking a loss and still being functional today. They were also checking on David between rounds and his corner couldn't even slow down his nose bleeds.

You are honestly even out loud asking "am I asking for too much" while completely disregarding the amount of good fights currently available to Ward at 175 where he currently sits. You allude to Golovkin being the only test for Ward and vice versa when both men currently fight two divisions apart. The funny thing is people on here took a huge shhh on D.Garcia for fighting Rod Salka (deservedly so) and now want to make an exception because it's Andre Ward? Ward is not a 168 pound fighter anymore, if he was he'd be fighting there plain and simple. What's wrong with this guy fighting for the WBC belt, which for the record he was supposed to after waiting the whole year for Sergio to heal? Only to see Dibella turn to Cotto's check book. Then have to wait a year for Cotto to take a tune up and then watch Cotto book a fight with Canelo. Why? I have yet to see anyone say "He should take on the Ward fight once he's done completing total unification". It's like everyone here would pass up a promotion and jump into a total new company to start all over from the same current position or one below it.

You don't have to keep me informed about Ward's career -- I did my homework long ago... Ward fought at the Olympics at light-heavy just because he wanted to let his buddy A. Dirrell compete at the middleweights in that competition. But Ward turned pro at 160 -- division he left immediately after that 'famous' Boone fight, remember?

IMO, at this stage, nobody (of notice) at 168 would like to fight Ward... At 175, Ward would easily beat 'top guys' such as Fonfara, Cleverly... or even Stevenson or Pascal... But because of 'networks war', Ward might only fight the likes of Pascal, Chilemba, Murat, a.s.o...

The ref stopped it at the right time, you cannot dismiss the look that lem gave the ref just before he stopped it. I don't like this ref doe, he like the attention, making faces at the camera etc he did the same bloody thing in the Andy Lee v Kid chocolate fight in April. He over does everything in there.

he was just hit with a body shot and was obviously very hurt. The fight was over.

he is lucky the fight was stopped. it was an easy fight for GGG.

                      just too good.
