"Loeffler indicates that their strategy, since last year, has been to unify the middleweight division. However, during that time period they did explore potential fights at super middleweight with both Carl Froch & Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. When it came to Ward, Loeffler & Golovkin's trainer Abel Sanchez made it very clear that a catchweight of 164-pounds would be required."

So basically they only would fight Froch & Chavez Jr at 168 lbs but Ward at 164 lbs. & the reason why they want the catchweight is because "ward isn't a draw".

I mean, if you are a ggg fan and are ok with that..... Then you are full of shit & can't complain about catchweights from this point on.

Dude just wanted to make his money so he can go home and get fat like Maidana. That isn't no damn sacrifice.

Sacrifice is moving up in weight to test your skills against the best.
just like Ward has done over the years. Oh, wait......

Exactly. There is nothing wrong with unifying your division and getting paid but don't make him out to be some feared terminator that takes on all comers. Those days are over.

He's no different than Quillin, Jacobs or any other carefully managed fighter looking for low risk high reward fights, the difference being that he is actually good, whereas they suck.

His last 3 opponents have been LHWs and his next few fights are going to be at LHW...

Exactly. What are you trying to say? He should've fought Dawson at 175.

Really? Let me know when GGG gives up his title (and a career high payday) instead of fighting a mandatory within his own division.

That was a Haymon power move. Not Quillin's decision. I hate Quillin but I still recognize that he's not the one calling the shots.

They are both micromanaged. If Loeffler told GGG to fight a stripper and vacate his belts he would do it too.

GGG ran away from a chance at being p4p #1.

GGG was going to fight Chocolatito Gonzalez?

The privileged Andre Ward would demand a GGG fight to be in Oakland so he can have his personal referee Jack Reiss or some other shady referee to permit him to foul (head butt, hit off the break, hold and clamp GGG's arms while hitting). And of course it would have to be at Ward's preferred weight.

The smugly arrogant Ward might travel to fight a journeyman on the Cotto-Alvarez undercard, but he will definitely not leave Oakland to fight a top talent like Golovkin. Despite being a much bigger man, Ward will lose to GGG unless he has a lot of help from a ref (Ward may even lose with a crooked referee against the smaller but much more talented GGG).

Ward is a selfish prima donna who demanded home advantage for all his fights in the Super Six and who has refused to do random PED testing (maybe because he wouldn't be strong enough to clamp his opponents' arms without PEDs?)
