UFC been past Boxing years ago. People hate Mayewather but want to use his numbers to try and justify how boxing is doing better than the UFC

I guarantee McGregor vs Aldo and Rousey vs Holmes both do better numbers than Cotto vs Canelo and GGG vs Lemeiux

That is not me rooting against Boxing, I'm a big fan of both but Boxing will always come first but you can't deny what the UFC is doing and how they market their stars and how they're able to make CROSSOVER Stars

Rousey is everywhere right now, it is not a fighter that is as crossed over as Rousey is right now. I don't even think she is all that good but credit to Dana White and the UFC.

Many people don't find arm breaks and joint locks entertaining or exciting. But the fact is, they work and are highly effective.

The objective is to win. It doesn't matter how you win, but as long as you win. Just like Floyd Mayweather. Not a very fan friendly style, but he gets the job done and wins and nobody beat him. He deserves to the rep as best boxer of his generation and era even if he closed out his career with boring decisions and very little action.

The same thing applies to who the baddest man on the planet is. Doesn't matter if they win by knockout, submission or judges score cards. A win is a win.

Electronic Arts dumped their Fight Night boxing game and replaced it with a UFC game. That is as good an indication of popularity as you are going to find.

You can't discount Pac and Mayweather (who will both fight next year imo) but then count Rousey and McGregor. Without those two the UFC would be in real trouble right now, they poured their money into McGregor and its worked, partly because he has promoted himself so much. Rousey is more of a unique situation where not even the UFC could have hoped for this much attention, it's the perfect storm for our current culture.

When it comes down to it even with a strong year for the UFC on PPV, boxing will still beat it overall because it had the biggest fight of all time. There is more boxing on TV today than the UFC even with their heavy schedule, and ratings are comparable.

Boxing fans have a gloomy outlook and are nostalgic for the past, but what's funny is that MMA fans are exactly the same, this same topic is common place. Probably because both sports are niche and event based.

I'd put my money on a fighter who is well-rounded in multiple disciplines vs a fighter who only knows how to do one thing. There's just too many advantages.
