To answer your question, I wouldn't mind seeing this fight. But why not wait until late 2016 - early 2017?
GGG has Lemieux --> Easy fight (winter) --> Canelo (May 2016) --> Andy Lee (September-October 2016)
These are assuming Canelo/Lee wins, which will probably mean the Ward fight would have to be early 2017, probably January-February or even later. So what's the problem? Your lover Ward is younger than GGG, and has less amateur/professional fights. He's unlikely to start declining more/quicker than GGG will. What the **** is wrong with you anti-GGG fans? None of you are acting like you have a brain. Canelo vs GGG is a much more important fight. Not to mention, GGG would have unified the middleweight division. If he doesn't fight Ward after that, then you can scream duck all you want.
Not to mention, this gives Ward time to get some fights in to bring at least soem popularity back.
You love G so much that you want him taken care of financially so he should be the A side and,
You're tired of the Evil Ward picking on little G and want the Body guard to swoop in like:
You have a FMJ Avatar. You probably said nothing when Marquez had to move up two divisions to fight Floyd at a Catch-weight of 144, which FMJ had no intention of making and intentionally came in overweight at 146.
No. GGG should fight at 172 and fight Ward in Oakland for free! Otherwise, he's a coward.
Sorry, just trying to fit in with the Ward fans....
It's always funny to see them argue that Ward and GGG are the same size out of one side of their mouth, then act like the halfway offer was a non offer/duck out of the other side.
In thoery you make a valid point except for one thing, Cotto and GGG are in the same weight class same goes for ward and kovalev.
Ward hasn't moved up yet. He made a wise move of fighting at a catch weight to test himself at the higher division before fully committing to moving up. Ward is still exploring his options at 168lb before making the official move.
I would love to see him face Degale, Bute or GGG before moving up for good.
It boggles the mind. I've seen fighters here get absolutely ripped to shreds for less obvious "ducks".
Like who? Show me a hypejob ducking the p4p #2 one division up, who is also the lesser draw yet wants 50-50. Bet you can't come up with one example. You're not very good at thinking
That would be a great fight and would elevate GGG to P4P status if he wins. But it just might be a lose, lose situation for Ward. What happens if he does win? Would people give him credit? Or will they just say he beat a smaller fighter?
I think he can, he could lose, and I'd like to see it. But a big majority here thinks its a rout, and Ward vs Kovalev is more competitive. Boxing fans like competitive. So it makes much more sense, esp since neither guy has much going on, unlike Ggg. How long should Wards ducking be tolerated by the fans?
