Big GGG fan here and also have massive respect for Wards skills in the ring, but I'm another who'd love to see this fight!

I get that the financials don't really make huge sense for Golovkin right now but from the perspective of a boxing fan there's pretty much no fight I'd rather see for GGG now that Froch is out of the picture.

Except GGG was in talks to fight at 164. Twice. It didn't happen but not because of him.

Apparantly no one wants to see Ward fight, look at his ratings, where did he fight again? BET? I have never heard of that network.

Most of Ward fights have been incredibly frustrating boring clinch fests, guy is boring and fights very dirty, in that sense similar to Floyd, so it seems that some degenerate Floyd fans want to see Ward, but there arent many left.

No one cares about Ward, you know it. Most of you just hate GGG because of obvious reasons (race is a big reason and because he exposes your idols), you try desperately to discredit him, time and time again he proves you wrong, he became a much bigger star than Ward could ever hope to be and that kills you a bit inside so you come up with your wet dreams that the guy who no one in boxing cares about, the guy who fought 2 times in 3 years and has 11 fans might defeat him.

Even though GGG has always said he wants to unify the belts at MW and he is exactly doing that, headlining his first PPV right now you cannot let it go.

Then you have Ward who has to use GGGs name to stay somewhat relevant all the time, spreading lies about contracts that were sent AFTER the Lemieux fight was announced and it was clear GGG would be facing Canelo/Cotto winner afterwards.

Whats most disgusting about the likes of you though is that you try to hide your racism towards Gennady in "We are fans of the sport and want to see the best fights".

If you were fans of the sport you would not have such a deep hatred towards GGG, and not discredit all his achievements and you would realize that right now GGG has much bigger things ahead of him than fighting the has been Ward, who badly needs to work on his own career again instead of talking about GGG every time to stay somewhat relevant in boxing.

Id love to see GGG v Ward. But GGG first has to beat Floyd to qualify for Ward. But I thought Ward was retired so wasn't even aware people wanted to see Ward fight anyone.
Id love Floyd to last 12 rounds with GGG, and even in loss, will show Floyd is top 10 ATG.

They're not but they going real hard for Golovkin now that they see GGG might be tied up till late 2016 clearing out the middleweight division. And Ward is gonna be sitting home doing a bunch of nothing. It's desperation time for them.

The best matchup since Chavez-Whitaker, ehh? But GGG must go up in weight to do it.

In a direct comparo to Floyd GGG, which can be contested at 154. Where Floyd is a 3 time champ. Don't see it.

Why can't Ward fight GGG? is the same as why can't Ward fight Kova, and I'm a former Ward fan.

The hypothetical potential fights for GGG at higher weights than usual that did not take place don't hold as much credence as the fight Ward did have at a higher weight than his usual.

The fact is Ward stepped on a scale for the official weigh in to his most recent bout at 171.8lbs and is 3 away from being able to meet Kovalev for a major fight that seems to be seen as virtually 50/50 from the polls that we had here at least, IIRC. Your counter to that is that GGG was possibly considering a fight at a higher weight at some point in time. Comon man, that's not nearly as convincing a sign that GGG is capable of and genuinely interested in making the move up.

EDIT: But going back to the point of that post you replied to - I am surprised by the lack of push for a Kov/Ward fight given the weight he was for his most recent fight because I would expect that if GGG had done something similar we would be hearing non-stop comments about how big a pvssy GGG is for not agreeing to make the Ward fight right away.

When u bring up Floyd fighting at 154, fans be like he's really a tiny, 140 pound fighter even though he couldn't make 144 pounds vs JMM a few years ago.

Yea it holds the exact same amount of credence imo. He is willing to move up. Just not to fight the best. Period. And trust me I have no issue with Ward vs Kovalev. But that's not what this thread is about. Deflection is still deflection even if it's true.
