Anyone who has studied the HISTORY of boxing, and kept their feelings at bay, would tell you that Marciano and Mayweather's records are not even comparable. Mayweather has crossed many weight classes and held multiple titles. P4P, half of his career has been a championship defense with quality opponents. People talk but their words never match facts.
FACTS:
Look at their opponents:
Marciano overall totals: 1536 / 529 (66% winning percentage) = D class opposition
Mayweather overall totals: 1394 / 211 (85% winning percentage) = B class opposition
Marciano first 30 fights: 560 / 307 (66% winning percentage) = D class opposition
Mayweather first 30 fights: 669 / 151 (78% winning percentage) = C class opposition
Where it really gets ugly is when you compare the last third of their careers
Marciano last 19 fights: 976 / 222 (78% winning percentage) = C class opposition
Mayweather last 19 fights: 725 / 60 (92% winning percentage) = A class opposition
Rocky Marciano competition was the WORST: Have any of you ever looked at the records of Marciano's opponents when he set the 49-Wins Record: Archie Moore 148W 19L 8D; Don ****ell 66W 11L 1D; Twice Ezzard Charles 85W 11L 1D; Twice Jersey Joe Walcott 51W 17L 2D....Why are you degrading Berto as a opponent?

Walcott, Cockell, Charles, Louis and Moore were not bums.
Some, like many Holmes and Mayweather opponents, were past prime.
id say floyd and rocky have similarly "opportunistic" resumes
which goes to show you why being undefeated is something only extremely casual boxing viewers should really care about
guys who fight all comers will lose a few times, all the real recognized (which are neither rocky nor floyd) GOATs have numerous losses and are rated for more meaningful stats
Ricardo "Finito" Lopez retired with a record of 51-0-1(there is a draw so probably that won't count) & Chavez Sr went 87-0 before getting a draw against Whitaker & didn't retire undefeated.
Question is who did they beat in their undefeated streaks. Was it future HOF'ers, future ATG's, current, past and former Ring champions. Or was it mainly just tomato cans and top 10 contenders who were good fighters and nothing else, with 1 or 2 HOF'ers? How many weight classes? How many titles did they win? How many times did they win a Ring title?

Ricardo Lopez was 23-0-1 in championship fights, bar none the best minimum weight in boxing history, if u wanna learn how to box, u have to watch El Finito!
