You're totally disregarding how difficult it would be to fight six times a year against big men in fights that can be changed by one punch. How many ranked fighters did Mariciano beat? I have to give you that one because without doing the research i really dont know. Im gonna say its safe to say not as much as Floyd though.

the wbc, wba formed at the end of marciano's career and the ibf and wbo didn't form until the '80s. If you want to compare the championship statistics of marciano's record to floyd's you need to use a 3-4x multiplier on marciano's to compensate for "champions" being much rarer.

Many people hated on Rocky because he won all his fights. People said the same thing about his opponents as they say (including myself) about Floyd's.
You can't say Rocky didn't fight some tough ass dudes. He did. Even some of the greats we all know today. Some twice.
It was just a different era back then as far as judging past fighters accomplishments in the sport.
IMO things like RM fighting with his nose hanging off his face with Ezzard Charles is what real champs are made of. Some may look at it different.

To Tell Truth

Floyd never beat an ATG fighter in his prime. So when one considers the feat of beating Charles...an ATG, it means a lot here. And Marciano never had a tremendous physical advantage over any of the men he fought, including Charles.

So I would put Floyd and Marciano as equal in there accomplishment. I don't subsribe to the heavyweight division being superior by default unless there were some incredibly strong punchers in the division, and in marciano's case all the strong punchers were past it.
