I think both records are worthless, still agree with his point that HW is much less worthless than Floyd's feather-fisted opponents.

I highly doubt it.

Rocky did it for 8 yrs while Floyd took 19 years!
Besides, Floyd cherry pick his opponents!
I have not seen Marciano's fight, but I'm sure back in the day there's no cherry picking!
You should definitely take a look at his fights they're highly entertaining
Jersey Joe Walcott Vs Rocky Marciano
That would be a great one to start off with, you don't watch a Marciano fight and feel like you've wasted time unlike some fighters of this era.

How will guys like Ortez look in 70 years from now? when Floyd's record is being assessed?
Look Dan let me put this is a "big picture way" since I am a big picture kind of guy: If we compare Joe Calzaghe to Roy Jones junior, there is no question that Roy fought much stronger fighters, and his record indicates that much. This includes when he fought them, the lack of whom Cazighe fought, etc.
If Roy and Joe both had the same undefeated streak and amount of wins, and you made the case that Roy was in a different class BASED on the quality of opposition he fought to attain the record that would be a legitimate example of your point. There is no commensurate point to be made in this case imo.
I didn't even name Arturo Gatti once in this thread nor did I list him in Floyd's list of wins.
How about just list me all the fighters Marciano fought who were ranked in the top 10? Or will you avoid the question?

You managed to do the impossible. Kudos.

Once again.. for a third time...Anyone who has studied the HISTORY of boxing, and kept their feelings at bay, would tell you that Marciano and Mayweather's records are not even comparable. Mayweather has crossed many weight classes and held multiple titles. P4P, half of his career has been a championship defense with quality opponents. People talk but their words never match facts.
FACTS:
Look at their opponents:
Marciano overall totals: 1536 / 529 (66% winning percentage) = D class opposition
Mayweather overall totals: 1394 / 211 (85% winning percentage) = B class opposition
Marciano first 30 fights: 560 / 307 (66% winning percentage) = D class opposition
Mayweather first 30 fights: 669 / 151 (78% winning percentage) = C class opposition
Where it really gets ugly is when you compare the last third of their careers
Marciano last 19 fights: 976 / 222 (78% winning percentage) = C class opposition
Mayweather last 19 fights: 725 / 60 (92% winning percentage) = A class opposition
...class dismissed

Bunch of morons who think sports athletes don't get better with time. You can't compare 50's boxing to today, today is much more superior. They punched meat then they just walked into the ring and started bleeding, then they left and did it again 3 weeks later. Dudes today have strength and conditioning coaches, protein shakes, improved calisthenics, better technique. That era formed the basis for the future of boxing and should be respected, but to imply its fighters are better is ******ed. That's like saying sprinter Jesse Owens was better than Usain Bolt... foh
