I really like Gamboa, too bad his career took a wrong turn. He's so gifted phisically minus his chin, is exciting fighter and have some skills, if he could only step up his defence. He should also go back down in weight, under 130 because he's too small. It wouldn't be that big of a problem if he had a solid chin, he showed a lot of heart against Crawford but it is too much for him. He would be a problem for any boxer of his size.

I just see little evidence to seeing Walters look shaky with someone brawling away with him, IF anything that suits him even more and Gamboa isn't exactly the greatest guy when it comes to taking a shot, good to see he has guts but it definitely doesn't favour him against Walters who is a very big man for the weight division.
When I saw Donaire rock Walters bad, despite Walters looking 140+, I got a little su****ious of his chin. Donaire can hit, but considering he had just jumped division and looked in poor shape it surprised me to see him completely stiffen Walters' legs with one shot.

I consider Gamboa a far better fighter than Donaire: he's more skilled, he's faster, he's bigger and I believe he hits a good deal harder. He also always starts out by outboxing guys before slugging, I think he could even hurt Walters in those early stages.

I admit to not being totally sold on Walters though.

        Can el Ciclon make 126?

He has the frame to be around 126-130, but he has built so much unnecessary muscle (Florida, ahem) that he may have done some permanent damage. Weight wise he was up there but there is no reason why he should be on the 140s with proper training.

I doubt he ever fights them. He presents zero reward now.

Too bad; he is one of the most insanely talented (too much actually, hurts him at times) and entertaining when full on.

        What a waste.

Donaire definitely hits harder than Yuri imo, regardless of size

Walters has been down a couple of times btw, can't find any footage of either KD

he can box and everything but he isnt that skilled in comparision to Rigo, Loma, Gamboa. And Gamboa showed it by outpointing him.Crawford just was too powerfull and too big for Gamboa.

He was being outboxed by Dulorme as well, I had Dulorme 4-1 up before he got caught. Crawford is a good fighter but nowhere near as good as he's being advertised. Imam is the real one at 140.

Those would both be excellent fights, and Gamboa could win both. I'm tempted to pick him to win both.

I wouldn't say he was outboxed at all. Dulorme was outthrowing him, not outboxing him, and Crawford was clearly content to let him while he landed his own shots and waited to up the pressure. The second he went at Dulorme the fight was over.

And no way was Dulorme up 4-1. He might have been winning 3-2.
